    How Long?

Mine wasn't as awesome as every one else's. I was actually denied the first time. For 6 months after my denial I had a personal trainer and kept a food diary and sent all that into the insurance company again. They approved me that time. So mine took longer...about 9 months in total and then another 3 months until my actual surgery date.

    So Hard To Date

I had trouble getting dates at first. When most of my weight came off I had gone through a lot of changes. My hair was much thinner and I had an "average" body by then. I didnt eat like like an "average" person though. One guy I was dating thought I was a bulimic. When he found out the truth he was relieved... He was also a heavy man. Later, I dated another guy. He was slender and handsome and cared abut the way he looked very much. When I told him about my surgery he broke things off because he knew I'd probably "get fat again"!! What a jerk. Of course I was terrified to tell any guy about my surgery after that... A couple weeks later that jerk I was dating roommate called me and asked me out. I thought he probably just wanted to ask questions or make fun of me... Well, he had nothing but the best intentions. In fact his sister in law had also had a bypass and she did gain all her weight back. The fact that he knew I had a bypass and that he witnessed for himself that people can gain weight after bypasses and he still wanted to be with me. ....well all I can say 2 years later we got married. I had a lot of rejections in the beginning and a LOT of guys come out of the woodworks when they found out I was thin. I found a man who loves me no matter what I am or will be or could be. ADVICE? Don't settle. Get what you deserve.

    Tummy Tuck?

I had a tummy tuck this past February. It was no cup of tea. For a month I pretty much had the movement of an 80 year old woman. However after 8 weeks I was perfect. I loved the results! I went down a few sizes in jeans and I'm not embarrassed about my stomach anymore! I'm looking into doing more cosmetic procedures soon.
  5. Hi there! I am 5 years out from my gastric bypass. I would do it again and again if I had to. I had amazing results! I am SO much happier. I really REALLY appreciate that I did the "full thing". I knew the gastric bypass would give me a lot more restrictions and I loved that because I knew that I would cheat anyway I could. If I could find a way to eat more or eat junk food or sip on milkshakes I would..I knew with the gastric bypass it would not allow me to do anything like that. I needed that discipline that I couldn't give myself. I'm 5'4 I went in weighing 300 lbs and today I am 115 lbs! I lost 160 lbs in the first year. Anyway... I highly recommend it!
