Marla, I am sorry to hear that. I'm at 135 which I guess is a better weight for me or at least my boyfriends says so. But I'm going to try to lose 5 and remain around 130 give or take a few. That is my goal anyways. It's not easy maintain. Really have to watch myself. Although I think my biggest downfall that is hurting me is I quit tracking my intake. So I really need to start tracking again. Again Marla, I am so sorry to hear that about your revision. Does your surgeon have an answer as to why it "failed"

Losing Weight Causing Me To Rethink Being In My Current Relationship
one4ozzie replied to bs8387's topic in The Gals' Room
I read and as a 41 yo that was 26 and married, feeling how you did about believing I was in love. I married at 18. We separated 3 1/2 yrs ago, divorced 1 yr ago. Married for 22 years. I have a senior in HS, daughter. Since the separation then divorce My longest and only relationship is with a male friend that lives in another state and getting divorced. It is nothing physical, only an emotional relationship. We had crushes on each other about 27 yrs ago. For the last 3 1/2 years I have been a mother, period. After my daughter graduates then it comes my time again. For me to start my life. I stayed with my ex because he was my best friend, it felt comfortable. He cheated and his GF gave him an ultimatum but I had already filed for a divorce so that tid bit about the ultimatum is irrelevant. After his affair started I hit my highest weight of 267. As soon as I found out about the affair, which was right away, we were talking and he called me fat. Ouch that is something you never forget. For several years I had toyed w the idea of this surgery. Boy am I happy that I had it. 9 months later I reached my goal weight of 125. Thought it was too skinny and now holding at 130. A year ago August was the last time I saw him until this last August. When I saw him, he didn't recognize me at all and walked right by, lol. I grabbed his arm and said his name, and he said I look horrible. First words out if his mouth. He had married that person he cheated on me w 2 months after our divorce. With that comment, I was blown away and said, "boy that's the first I've heard that. I actually hear quite the opposite always." He said, "I meant your too skinny." I told him that I was the same weight as I was in HS and after when I married him. My biggest regret is being married so young that I never found myself. I didn't know who I was. Granted you are older than I was but comfort is huge in a relationship. However, not big enough to stay when you have such opposing differences in the relationship. As other stated, I think you already stated your answer just by asking the question. Remember endings are always sad, but new beginnings are filled with excitement of the unknown. For a while, you will feel both of these (excitement and sadness) if you choose to separate. Sorry this was so long. LOL. When I first started typing, it was short and words just came pouring out. -

It doesn't make me sick either. Well actually I can't say that, sometimes it's hit n miss. Sometimes I'll have a caramel or other small piece of candy and it makes me nauseous. I don't get chocolate cravings anymore and I stay away from it. I am maintaining fairly well though. Still at 126. I went to 130 and 4 lbs fell off within a week. Trying to stay right at current weight. I am very happy with the surgery. No regrets whatsoever. I would do it all over again if I had to, very thankful. I like others am worried about the next couple of months, the holidays. Gen :-) 12/15/12 -

Well good news!!! I have stopped losing and actually was able to gain a pound back. But I decided that since it's gone I don't really want to gain it. So I am trying to maintain at 126 now and if I gain that is fine. But I'm not going to intentionally try to gain which is what I was doing last week. Definitely am not trying to lose. I am so full right now. 2oz Turkey breast for dinner and 5 white cheddar crackers. I had a defrosting, not intentional, in my freezer and lost everything that was in it. Meat and veggies gone bad :-( Unfortunately it was my outside (garage) freezer, so I didn't know about it right away :-( I hope everyone is doing well on your weight loss. I'm very grateful over the last 10 months that I found y'all on this forum. I think knowing you guys were here has helped me through 2 surgeries, venting about the still on going divorce, and everything else. Thank you!!! Gen :-) 12/15/12 -

Stall @ 230lbs! Help!

Vicki: I was a slow loser at first. But now I'm 9 months out from surgery, reached goal weight of 125. I've lost 117lbs since the morning of surgery. Just remember to track everything you eat. I use MFP - My Fitness Pal. Protein is extremely important to weight loss so make sure you are getting enough of it. From 4-9 months, I have needed 100g + of protein. Your surgeon will be able to tell you what you need on your visits by looking at your lab results. Gen :-) 12/15/12 -

This is the same post that i posted in Decmber's surgery group. As y'all know I have neen following your group too. I am sadly (for myself it's sad) reporting that I'm still losing weight and hit my goal weight (125 as of this morn).. I am definitely too skinny. I have upped my carb intake. I am also forcing myself to eat more in calories. I hate being negative on what others think should be a positive task, losing weight. But then again if we all could lose like we did before the surgery, we wouldn't have had the surgery :-) I am still very happy for the tool that I've been blessed with. Now I need to learn how to gain effectively and maintain effectively while maintaining health; as well as, peacefulness in my mind with everything I'm putting in my mouth. So forgive me for the complaint when all of you are working so hard. My hard work is definitely coming in maintaining w/o losing. I cant wait to hear more goals reached. Hopefully the maintenance will be easier for you than it was for me!!!! I will continue following and posting; meanwhile praying for everyone that is having the surgery, thinking about having it, or have had it. Meanwhile, throw some prayers up for me in not losing anymore, but in gaining then maintaining the weight :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12 -
