    December 2012 Post Op Group

Almost 10 weeks out. This better not follow me for life is all I have to say. I have a cystoscopy (a look inside my bladder) for the 16th to see if there is any bladder damage from the improperly placed catheter. Not going to be fun. It is being done in the office without sedation so I'm worried about the pain of that. If anyone has had one this way could you tell me what it's like. I was told its almost like a catheter being placed. Ugh, please no. So I guess I have some thinking to do as to where to go from here, as to whether or not to sue. I hate doing that but right now I'm in pain again. Can't see an end yet!!! Gen :-) 12/15/12

And the complications from hysterectomy continues. I had to go to Dr today. I have a thing called granulation now. Part of the inner tissue must have been stitched to the outside tissue. Because it is on the outside that was causing bleeding and a couple other symptoms. I was put on Flagil to help with the bacteria created from it. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Try to up your protein. I stalled for a week and upped my protein and now I'm losing again. Almost a pound a day. I had my 3 month today as well. Down 64. I have 40 to go to goal wait. About the protein and my appt. I told Dr about the hair loss, he said only thing that would help is upping the protein. I told him I hit a stall upped to protein to about 86-90g and he was happy w that. Today I hit 100g of protein. Almost every thing I eat is protein. Plus I have a my fuzzy navel shake in the morning. I have 1 before and after work outs. I was told that having a shake or a high protein food within 30 minutes after work out will help burn those fat cells quicker and build lean muscle. The ham tasted so good I think I ate to fast. I can only hold barely 2 oz of meat and then I'm full. I probably got 1 and 2/3 of an oz and I was feeling sick cause I ate too much :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12

    What ya eating tonight?

I've used ground turkey for years. But I do have to say when I first thought about trying it, I wasn't to sure when buying it. But since then thats all I buy. My family loves it. Even those who come to dinner that don't know it's turkey burger have no complaints. Gen :-) 12/15/12

We can't live others lives for them. But you know what, for many people it was judgmental people and abusiveness that may have caused us/them to eat the way we did before the surgery. Heck, it could have been medications, such as in my case. Many used food for comfort to try to heal those wounds. Why would you want to open wounds that are healing??? I think if something negative must be said, you can drop them a note and start a conversation. I would like to hear positive comments and hear the reality of what people eat. We are all at different stages and can eat different foods. So what if someone gives in after losing 70 pounds and has something they shouldn't. Maybe that was their treat to themselves. It is ok to treat ourselves occasionally. If you see a post day after day about a specific persons diet and are "worried" or whatever it is you feel, drop them a private note. No you didn't point me out specifically but I will stand up for others. We need to be supportive of each other, not break people down. Gen :-) 12/15/12

    What ya eating tonight?

I had surgery Dec 15 and am down to 179. I could not wait to eat fruit absolutely love it. I don't eat breads, pasta, potatoes, or other processed carbs. However last night my daughter was eating Doritos so I tried and had some. That was after 86g of protein. I do have a shake before I work out and after. I work out everyday. I think it is inappropriate to judge someone because you don't know their daily menu or work out schedule. I believe after almost 4 months since surgery, w nothing but healthy food (proteins, veggies, fruit) for me, you have no place to be judgmental. Before last night, I didn't touch one processed carb. Many people on here might be the same way. So please step off that pedestal you placed yourself on and stop looking down your nose and making rude comments to those of us who are honest about what we ate. We are human, we aren't perfect and neither are you. Sorry just had to say something cuz it seems like most everyone you quoted you sounded snotty. Gen :-) 12/15/12

    What ya eating tonight?

So you guys, I was a bad girl last night. I ate about a serving of nacho cheese Doritos last night. My daughter had them and I just had to try to see what would happen. Nothing pouch accepted them. That was the first junk food since surgery. Today, no more. No more trying of anything to see if my pouch will accept. I'm back on the wagon, full speed ahead striving for my goal weight. Gen :-) 12/15/12
