Some veggies, almonds and shake 30 minutes after. Nothing large. Lunch is generally largest meal and takes longer to eat. It consists of yogurt, cheese stick and If I can tolerate it a meat. I also try to get a fruit or fruit cup in too. so lunch takes me a while. For the meat: As long as I don't have to cook it (the meat is better, smells affect me)), or if it isn't overly seasoned (oh my that will make me dump too). I'm ok w white meats. I seem to dump with red meats more. Gosh I hate dumping. So, many red meats I try to avoid. Gen :-) 12/15/12

For those of you stalling: are you getting enough protein. We will have stalls anyways but getting all the protein in is important. I get 80-100g a day. I had labs drawn one of my proteins was low. So my Dr and Nut said I must maintain 2 shakes a day. Other than that all labs were perfect. But has anyone noticed a "shifting" of weight, possibly from fat to muscle when you're stalled. I was stalled for a month and lost a pant size during the stall. My story is I started out 254 lbs heavier a year ago. At surgery, I was 237 Dec 15. Now I'm 139. As I said I get a lot of protein a day, I have too due to how my body uses it up. My Dr recommends 60g a day but when I was doing that I started losing my hair, which is fairly normal. However, upping the protein stopped that too. Just remember if you stall you still may be losing just not on the scale as I did. I finally broke my stall 2 days ago. I dropped to a size 6 pant 2 weeks into the stall and it is starting to fit loosely around the waist, so I wear a belt 2 weeks later. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Janice, walking is a very good place to start. No gym required. :-) Nicole or anyone: I'm down to a size 6 pant and I kind of worry about myself. But during the stall there must have been so much shifting of weight going on cuz that is when I dropped to a 6. Well it kept shifting and I did break the stall by losing 1 pound but I'm afraid within the next month I will drop to a 4. 6's are loose around my waist and I'm wearing a belt. But all labs came back fine other than the 1 which is why I have to stay on 2 shakes a day. I eat til I'm full. So eating more isn't an option and still get liquids in. Should I be worried at 139 and wearing 6 about ready to drop to 4. I have an aunt that went thru this surgery. Was about my size to start, and is quite skinny. In high school I weighed 115, wore a size 3, juniors. I did express my concerns to my nutritionist but she didn't seem worried. Just told me I'm right on track. Gen :-) 12/15/12

If your not getting the sensation of fullness, try using measurements. Pain in the butt, however, it should do the trick. Also you could do the test on your pouch, where you go on liquids for 2 days, then soft food for 2: I don't exactly remember it but you can google it. The test might also be located within this forum. Yes the jack links are chewy. I take small bites and chew, chew, and chew some more. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Janice, for breakfast I eat Special K Protein w FF milk. Lunch consists of Damon Light n Fit yogurt, Cheese Stick, and a Fruit. I drink 1 protein drink (still using the fuzzy Navel) mid morning and another mid afternoon. They are essentially my snacks. I do not touch the protein bars. I also don't eat potatoes, rice, pasta, etc. for dinner I will eat veggies, raw almonds, fruits. I love Jack Links Beef steak sticks. Low cals, high protein, low carbs. I guess you can say they take the place of the protein bars for me. The smell of cooking meat makes me want to toss my cookies and walking by the seafood at the grocery store is twice as bad :-( . I have noticed too much spices will turn the tummy. I've tried ice cream and a couple bites and started feeling sick. I tried a couple Reese's pieces and they make me sick. But I can eat M&Ms. A friend bought me a pack last week so I tried it, I was amazed. I eat popcorn without any problem. I do chew gum but I have to wait at least 30-60 minutes after eating or I feel sick. I have been stalled for about 1 month now, but honestly I don't care. I hit 139. I get in 80-100 in protein a day but low calories. 700-750. My dietician is happy w my progress and said I'm right on track. She wasn't worried about only 700-750 cal a day. If I eat 2-2.5 oz of meat and try to eat something more, I dump. So I really have to watch it. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Had my 6 month follow up yesterday. All labs were great except for the protein for immediate use was 2pts low (I forget what it's called). My long term protein levels are great, go figure right. It's odd. I do have difficulty w meats and have to drink two protein shakes a day. Dr said hopefully it will clear up. When I walk by seafood counter at the grocery store, I honestly start to feel so sick from the smell that I almost toss my cookies every time. Cooking some meats isn't easy either do my daughter has to do it. I told Dr and nutritionist I can only eat 2oz of meat and not much more after that. If I do it will or part of it will come back up. They said 2-3 oz is normal for about 6 months. So I was happy with their answers to my questions. Good day. Total loss is 107. I have loss weight and been stalled for a month. But there was shifting going on which caused me to drop from a size 8 to a size 6 pant. Lately haven't been working out in last 2 weeks. Mainly cuz I was having issues from the treatment for the complication left from the hysterectomy. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Still having issues from hysterectomy and starting, actually starting is long over with. I'm so sick n tired of it. I am at 140 now. Size 6 pants, small tops. Thankfully I only lost 1 cup size. I was worried about that loss. I'm having difficulty eating dinner at night. With stress and all, I'm just not hungry. I get all the Protein in each day, could do better on Water. Monday I have my 6 month follow-up and am worried how my lab work results will turn out. On the ex note, still fighting they lawyers. He drained our 401k. He is remarried, yippee for him cuz I'm done caring. I have sole legal and physical custody of my daughter. He lost all rights to her. The courts gave her the authority as to her having contact w him. Exactly what I wanted, so that's good. He can't see her or talk to her unless she contacts him. I'm happy she was given the control. Ex owes me over 30,000 with what he stole out of the 401k. Plus 11,000 in back support. Also 3 months of 1/2 his retirement checks. I can't believe this is the man I was married to. It is just unimaginable what he has done and is doing!!! Not sure if I will ever see a dime of what he owes. He's also hiding assets, which my lawyer knows about. I can't believe how messy this has become. It is so much unneeded stress. As for my personal life: my friend from HS and I are doing very well. Even though it is a long distance relationship til he moves up here, we video chat, text, and call all the time. Who knew I would find someone that I was such good friends with over the years for most of my life. I loved him as a friend and only feel it getting greater. I pray that he's the one. My true friend becoming my true love. He is my dream come true. He says I'm his too. He told me I should have told him about my feelings for him years ago. I wanted to but just couldn't. I hope everyone is doing well in your personal lives as well as health wise. You all have become good friends and thank you for your support thru everything I have been thru these last 7 months and pray for me that this issue with the ex will finally have an ending soon. <3 :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12

OMG, that is so great. Very proud of your success. As we all know, if they didn't stick by you they weren't truly your friends. Great News!!!! My sixth month check up is actually during my 7th month. So July 11, I will find out about my labs and I'm so interested in finding them out. I think I've been getting dehydrated, I drink but it just doesn't seem like enough. Some morning I wake up w HBP. Not good. Gen :-) 12/15/12

I'm 15 lbs from goal weight and stalled. I guess that's ok. I've had a lot of stress still dealing w the ex and trying to get my stuff he stole back. As well as the rest of our other things settled, who gets what. He's dragging his feet. He says I've got my divorce so why do I need to get this other stuff done. He is officially engaged to the woman that broke up his 22 yr marriage. All I have to say is good luck w that one, lol. I have rediscovered an old friendship, love or I guess you could say he was a crush being neither of us could admit feelings back then in HS and we remained friends. We have communicated briefly throughout the years but feelings never came up until I was divorced and he's in the process. He unfortunately lives out of state. Many text and phone calls are being made and will continue to be until he moves back in the fall time. He's one of the good men, thankfully. Gen :-) 12/15/12
