I'm not Jan, but very close to you so here is my story. I am 40. I was 237 when I went in for surgery, 5'6. I lost 30 lbs before surgery. I'm now 219. I did get minor dehydration 2 weeks post op. I was drinking 60 oz a day of liquids. My body was processing the liquids right, so I gained Water weight. After a couple days of 80-90oz of liquids my body kicked in. So I started losing again. By the way, before surgery I drank 3 liters of water a day so my body was used to a high input of liquids. Probably why my body reacted differently. Your bodies will go through a major change. No telling what it will like or not like post op. I was lucky that was my only post op issue. Health wise I feel great and it gets better each day. By the way, if any of you want to join us over on our December post op thread feel free to add on to our thread too :-) There are many people there that had surgeries in other months and all are welcome. I have been told that the December post op thread is followed by others, cuz their month post op threads fell by the wayside (people stopped posting). Please join us over there too if you would like. I am a belly sleeper and from the night I arrived home from the hospital I found that I was flipping to my stomach during my sleep. When I woke up, oh the pain on my left side incisions. But every night it was the same thing. I would unknowingly flop to my stomach in my sleep. About the puréed pizza: a week ago my daughter was having pizza. I looked at her and said could you imagine me putting a piece in the blender and purée it. The thought of even how it would look almost made me sick. I couldn't believe I had that thought. Glad I'm not the only one w crazy thoughts. :-) I'm tasting the unjury too. I only use them when I have soups, just for extra protein. Funny how our taste buds change. I'm on puréed now and so scared to try anything since the dump w the skinless chic breast :-( I did try egg next morn and stomach hurt for a little while but that's it. So I fell back onto cream of Broccoli last night w some unjury, only so I could hit 60+ in protein. I have a list my nutritionist gave me of puréed meals that I'm going to look at the hit the store for grocery shopping. Gen :-) 12/15/12

After last nights dump, I'm taking it easy tonight. Cream of Broc + protein added. I tried a 1 egg and cheese omelette this morning and I didn't dump, but didn't feel very well after:-( Finished left over chili from Wendy's for lunch and pouch had no issues. It's odd. Gen :-) 12/15/12

I had bruises around the incision sites. The tools must have been hard at work towards the middle of your stomach :-) lol. On a serious note, hopefully there isn't tenderness in that area too. Gen :-) 12/15/12

sugar free (SF) Popsicles or fudgesicles, SF Jello, SF pudding, chicken - beef - vegetable broth (which ever you prefer), Vitamins (liquid or chewable Calcium + D and multivitamin), non-Carbonated, non calorie drinks, decaf (Gatorade G2, Powerade zero, Vitamin Water zero, unsweetened tea, coffee, skim milk - soy - lactose free (which ever you need), Protein powders or shakes, light - low sugar or carb controlled yogurt, cream of Soups (to be strained of vegetables or chicken), crystal light, SF Kool Aid Might need milk of magnesia. I recommend for calcium + D, Wellesse. It is a liquid. You can get it at Walmart and many other stores. It comes in orange flavored, SF, tastes a little like orange sherbet. Good luck all of January Surgeries :-) I liked the unjury chocolate Splendor and the unflavored. Warning: there is a taste with the unflavored however I loved it in the cream of soups. Liquids after surgery are most important. You don't want to get sick so it is great that you can handle liquids. Just work in proteins when you can. Congrats on your homecoming :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12

Start the calcium now. My Dr didn't have me start the iron. In 2 months he does blood test and that will determine the other vitamins and minerals I will need. But if your Dr told you to take it, I would start it as well or call ask Dr office. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Omg. Experiencing 1st dumping. My pouch didn't like the chicken breast. :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12

I was given it to help with nausea when going home. :-) Due to different foods we would eat and the pouch might not accept something, you may get nauseated. I had to take it once. I was very grateful that I had it. Gen :-) 12/15/12
