    January 2013 Post Op

I didn't count either of my hospital stays. It is very disheartening to lose weight, go in for surgery and gain a lot of weight. I didn't count the water weight gain from IVs either time into my lose. The day of surgery I weighed 237. That was Dec 15. Now I'm at 201. I've been a slow loser too, I believe. I'm 8 weeks out from RNY w a total of 36lb lose. I went in for second surgery @ 204, gained 14 lbs. so back up to 218. I was so discourage but what could I do but wait for the water weight to come back off and it has. The numbers on the scale are discouraging. You have to look passed those #s and look at what Smile was talking about and the positive NSV statements. We have to remain positive cuz all negativity ever did for us was help us put on the weight. We all are going to reach stalls but we need to restructure on minds on how to deal w those stalls. Gen :-) 12/15/12

I had my RNY on Dec 15. No issues with UTIs, with that surgery. Then on 29 Jan I had a complete hysterectomy w lymph node removal. From the time I started coming out of anesthesia, I new the catheter was miss placed. They tried replacing it 3 times, still had pain. My UTI is just so sever that it's taking longer for antibiotics to help. I am takings pain med, but it isn't the best. Helps reduces fever more than anything. I also started up my cranberry supplements so hopefully that will help too. Gen :-) 12/15/12

I agree w the soup due to so much liquids being in it, I think that would be the best thing to eat if you're eating a larger quantity. Especially since you had a break. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Got a clean bill of health from my GYN Oncologist. No need for radiation or chemo. Cancer is gone. Although I have what might be a severe UTI or Bladder infection. Hurts to walk, to sit, to pee, oh heck it hurts to do anything. Did a pee test and results will be in Thursday. Dr started me on the antibiotic for it now though. I get so weak with very little exertion. Run temperatures, just woke up freezing w a 101.3 temp. Ugh. Please let the antibiotics due the job!!! Also he asked me are you sure this was more painful that the RNY. I said "Oh hell yeah." I guess he thought it wouldn't be. I said with RNY I was up and about right away. This one has beaten me up. Smack, kick, $@")&@"@. People like that are idiots. They don't realize there are medical conditions that prevent weight loss no matter how much you try. We are forced to eat better, and start to work out cuz the surgery helps w the Medical conditions, such as diabetes, HBP, sleep apnea, etc. which helps prevent the loss. Loss is loss, it's all the same!!! Gen :-) 12/15/12

I'm not sure if I could do it every meal/ every day. I have 1 Greek yogurt a day sometimes that feels really old. That is lunch everyday along w fruit. At dinner, I try to have a meat w veggies. Tomorrow making a big pot of turkey chili. Can't wait!!! So as for the yogurt, I hope 1 a day helps!!! Gen :-) 12/15/12

Well today I went to my lawyers to sign a petition to have the LA divorce thrown out due to it already pending in MI courts. Keep your fingers crossed for me, that the D is thrown out in LA. then I will have my lifetime medical coverage :-) Also he losses the so called leverage he has over me by bringing it all back to MI courts and let the judge eat him up for court shopping on another state. As well as for not abiding by the terms of the divorce petition in MI. Gen :-) 12/15/12

Trust me I heard it from my dad today cuz I've had difficulty eating and drinking. I know I won't heal as quickly if I don't eat and drink. But I can't help it. What I would like is a nice tea from McDonalds. Sounds odd but every morning going into work, I'd hit the drive thru for $1 unsweetened tea. Tea drinker here, not much of a coffee one Gen :-) 12/15/12

It is either gas which can hurt very bad in that area or the left incisions and the muscles around those incisions which were affected due to most of the work being done in that area. So they will hurt longer than right incisions. That seems to be the consensus. Try walking as often as you can but don't hurt yourself by doing so. Last week when I had some of the worse pain imaginable after the hysterectomy, I swore gas was trying to force it's way out of one of my sutures. And that was exactly how I described it to the nurse.
