Remember that some people add the pounds in that they had when they started the whole process and not surgery date. Not saying you quoted on one of those. Also, the more weight there is the more weight there is to lose. (goodness i hate how that sounds) But each of our bodies will lose weight as it can. I thought in the beginning I was a slow loser. However, I am almost (1 week shy) of my 3 month mark. I have lost 50. 3 months ago I was 237, now I'm 187. Wow that's amazing I think. Imagine what I would have done w/o the surgery, definitely not 50. Maybe 5 if I was lucky. Think of the big picture and not by the day by day or week by week. Also you might not lose on the scale, but can be in measurements. Gen :-) 12/15/12

    On my way

Welcome Nubamaboy :-) I had surgery in Dec. I've lost 50 since date of surgery. I went with RNY due to the read of lapband slippages. Didn't like the idea of the sleeve. Had relatives have the RNY w/o any problems and great results. I also liked the idea of dumping to keep the old sweet tooth in check. I no longer have a sweet tooth. I don't have cravings for pizza which is amazing cuz it was my fav food. I'm so happy w my decision and I'm sure you'll be too. My personal decision when I did this was that I was giving up those processed carbs ( bread, Pasta, etc) I have to tell you though somedays I would love some pasta. But I don't allow myself to give in yet. That's if my body would accept it. Other days I would love a Peanut Butter sandwich. But my will is stronger than the cravings now :-). It's definitely not an easy way out as some people claim. It's a lifestyle change and takes determination and hard work. Good Luck :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12

Congrats to all of us for making it almost 3 months since our surgery date (depending on the exact date). I personally am very happy with my decision and would not go back to make any other decision regarding having the surgery. Gen :-) 12/15/12

I wished I had 16s and 14s saved :-( But unfortunately I haven't seen those sizes in many years. I noticed today that depending on the name on the pants I'm 14 / 16. Gen :-) 12/15/12

It's basically like a girdle for your tummy area. It fits around you tummy area to hold it in. For example, spanx (if you've heard of them). I lived in my spanx, cuz i already had them, 24 hrs a day You can get them at Walmart and I do recommend them it really helps w pain. The are in the undies, socks, etc section. Gen :-) 12/15/12 It has ribbing in it to help hold everything in and hopefully prevent it from rolling. I didn't use this though. I used my spanx as I said earlier. My spanx are much like a tank top. Below is my current spanx. Similar to a tank, holds up very well, However, $40-50, for one. the spanx are very durable. The others I have, 3 of them, I've had over 3 years and they still work perfectly. I wear my spanx all the time under my undergarments.

Happy days. Today I bought a pair of pants on clearance, thinking it would be 2 weeks more til I fit in them. Came home tried them on and fit perfectly, woohoo. I have a big butt so normally I had to go a size bigger. But now in 16, so happy. Going to have to hit clearance to see if I can find a couple more pair :-) I seem to be dropping a pant size each month since surgery so paying full price, I don't think so. Happy Dance. Well still on light duty for at least 2 more weeks due to the complications I had from hysterectomy :-( I really want to start working out again. Dr said the healing of the internal stitches and where I had the infection looks good, healing well. Although I think the one abscess that blocked the ureter causing my kidney to swell, is filling back up. Starting to have some pain when walking again, minor pain right now. Also a lot of pressure and some pain when relieving my bladder. The doctors told me two weeks ago it would probably need to be drained again but I figured after a week that I was in the clear. I might be wrong :-( Gen :-) 12/15/12

You are doing well. I was 237 on DOS and this morning I weighed in at 189. A lot of foods that I loved before, just the sound of them turns me off. Chocolate, blah, pizza blah, most all meats, double blah. I can eat very much and I'm full too. Have you tried the Special K Protein? I love it. W the FF milk you're getting about 14 G protein. I got my syntrax nectar, fuzzy navel in the mail yesterday. I like it. It has a strong taste of fuzzy navels but I blend mine with frozen fruit to make smoothies. So far Ive used strawberries. The chocolate, vanilla and those other thick protein drinks I can't handle due to the sweetness. I could right after surgery however not now. I got tired of yogurts for now. I'm just not used to so much dairy products. I still love string cheese though. I do what I can to eat the proteins vs supplement, but my body needs to cooperate w me. I haven't been able to work out in 6 weeks. On Jan 29, I had a complete hysterectomy then complications :-( I'm still on a light duty where I can't do a lot, so I don't like that. I was hoping for surgery to go off w/o a hitch and ended up w complications. But as for the RNY, no problems with that surgery :-) Gen :-) 12/15/12

I received my syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel today. I mixed it up added frozen strawberries, blended. It tastes like I'm drinking a fuzzy navel without the alcohol :-) I think these will work for protein for a while. Can't taste the strawberries. Gen :-) 12/15/12

As we lose the (I hate this word) fat the protein helps us retain and build the muscle. Muscle weighs more than the fat. So it makes sense to track measurements vs weight. I am not a fast "loser" but I definitely see a difference in the way clothes fit. Gen :-) 12/15/12
