Hello I am 9 days post op and in need of a good scale .. I'm trying to decide if I should get a digital or a dial scale ? I always wondered if the digitals were that accurate ? Anybody have any ideas for me on what product I should get ? Thanks for your input ..

I just got banded on the 25th and per my dr we can have sugar free jello and sugar free pudding ! Inculding the sugar free pudding popsicles..

I had my surgery in Mexico on the 25th of Sept .. I am now 4 days post op and feeling better- -- I believe I probably could have gotten by at work if need be but am very happy for the extra days -- For me anything before 4 days would have been too much -

Ok, to those that have been banded already by Dr Gonzalez ... How important is the diet journal you are supposed to do ?? Does the Nutritionist really look at it --- I probably missed a week of journaling -- I'm not very good at that stuff -- I'm just wondering now what is going to be said to me - - Thanks for all the info !!

Ok what is the AP band and why is it better ?? Never heard of them ...

Hello Bandsters -- I am going to Tijuana to get banded Sept 25th by Dr Gonzalez... I will be going to San Diego for 2 nites post op -- Does anybody have any suggestions on where to stay ?? I got a good price at the Marriott Marina but have been reading mixed reviews -- Also, I was wondering if anybody could give me insight on what to expect after surgery -- Will I be able to at least go to the zoo or Sea World - Am I expecting too much to be up to that ?? Also, should I assume I wont be able to go in the pool due to incisions ?? Thanks for any info you could provide -- !!

I am going for surgery with Dr G on Sept 25th -- They ask for 500.00 retainer fee and I believe the rest is due at surgery -- I actually havent gotten that far yet ... My surgery was scheduled for almost a month before I even sent the 500.00 in because my financing was going thru still too .. I'm sure they will work with you, whatever ur situation.

Liz1531 , Thanks for the info ! Since you live there u may be able to help me out .. I was really looking for a hotel on the Ocean ! I keep coming across the Marina and have booked at Marriott Marina but I am still searching for an Ocean front hotel w/in the same price range but I dont even know where to look for Ocean front --- ??? What am I doing wrong ? I keep finding Marina front or whatever -- Help -- :bounce: Thanks

Hello All Bandsters , I am getting banded Sept 25th in Tijuana MX with Dr Gonzalez ! I am soo excited but kind of worried at the same time -- I'm worried that I wont be able to keep with the diets == And I'm worried what my body is going to look like when I do lose the weight !!

Thank you soo much Lap-Bandit and Chelsea !! I do appreciate you guys helping me throught this ! I totally needed that .. They just don't get it ! My best friend has never been fat in her life and she was like just exercise and she just doesnt understand how I feel. I told her to quit smoking !! Never have another cigarette in ur life -- tell me how easy that is-- That actually shut her up ! She is actually coming to Tijuana with me but keeps telling me how dangerous it is ... I just kept telling her we'll be fine .. It's just a few days.. and the hotel is attached to the hospital .. There really is no need for us to leave there. Anyways, i really just wanted to say THANK YOU soo much for understanding and posting ur thoughts for me !! Good Luck to everybody and I'm looking forward to Sept 25th !!

Helllo alll, I am a bit depressed now, my friends are trying to talk me out of this surgery ! I am a lower BMI so they keep saying I dont need it .. "just do this or try that " ! ughgh I am getting soo frustrated, I have done everything ....lost weight gained it back plus more !! They just don't get it -- I will keep gaining and getting bigger and bigger if I don't do this. I am the heaviest I have ever been at 5'4 195 # . I don't want to go out anymore, I don't want people to see me ... In my mind this is what I need to do. I can't go on like this anymore. I understand that they're concerned because of the whole Mexico thing and complications and all but I have done soo much research. I just have to stick to what I believe and hope there are no problems !! Thank goodness for this site cuz I get encouragement here just by reading other people's experiences .. Thanks for listening all !

Yeahhhh HOTMAMMA you do crack me up !! Where are from ? I will be banded Sept 25th by Dr Gonzales too !! I can't wait ! You will have to fill me in and keep me posted on how things are going for you ...

Hello Christine, I have the same questions as Hotmamma - I have actually talked to Dr Venezula from Dr Gonzales's team several times. I'm just curious now how it all actually went for you -- How was the hospital and how is the aftercare ?? Thanks Christine

Hello, I have been reading thru these posts for about a month now as I was considering the Lap Band -- I have made my decision to do it and have narrowed my surgeon down to either Dr Ortiz or Dr Francisco Gonzalez both out of Tijuana Mexico .. I was wondering, has anybody used Dr Francisco Gonzalez and what can you tell me about him ? I plan on having the surgery end of Sept, and taking a week off of work. My other question was -- I live in Chicago .. Can anybody tell me of a good fill dr here and what his charge is ? Any information anybody could provide would be greatly appreciated !!
