Haven't been on in a while but wanted to see how everyone was doing. Nicole, you look awesome and I'm so glad to see your progress. I haven't wanted to discourage anyone as my progress has not been as hoped and I just gave up. I stalled shortly after surgery and despite doing everything I was told by nut and dr, the scale has never changed. Finally a month or so ago I decided to eat what I wanted to see what would happen and still no change. I am certainly eating healthier-not gaining/not losing. Dr. Says everything seems fine. Bloodwork was normal except for a need for more iron. I have thought about trying the pre-op diet for a couple of weeks but haven't talked myself into it yet. Not sure it would do any good but I did lose preop. I'm not sure I would do this again as I am only 10 lbs less than I was with the band. The one positive is I'm not gaining and without the band(which had to come out) or bypass I would be gaining. Unfortunately, not enough weight loss to avoid diabetic meds which was a driving reason for doing it. That is most difficult part of all. I do enjoy hearing about your successes and your pics really do show the differences. Keep up your good work!

  5. I can eat the very thin 7 grain bread toasted with low fat cheese (cheese toast). I'm 3 months out. Haven't eaten it in a while but didn't bother me.
  6. Turkey chili for the first time.

Ok girls, since I have just been hanging at the same weight I decided to try something a bit different to see if it would help. I decided to just drink liquids since I was going to be gone all day and then I had a big salad for dinner. Figured it couldn't hurt and I am really tired of eating period. Well, today I'm down 2 pounds. That's the biggest drop since before surgery. It may come back but I'm. Encouraged for today. Don't know if it just happened or something I did. I feel lighter today, too. Ohh, I hope it continues!

Gen, after all u have been through, it is so good to hear you are still happy with your choice. Such a great attitude. My scale is still at the same place it has been for almost 2 months now. I'm still eating at 600 cals lwith a bit more a couple of times for a special occasion. I have done everything the nut has said but made no difference. Still wearing same size clothes so not having to worry about new ones. See dr in 2 weeks for blood work so maybe that will tell something. Otherwise, I think I am beyond this being a stall and may have to accept this as the status quo.

Well the nut said to stop worrying about protein and then have me a high fiber plan which was 600 cal and mainly salad with 2 or 3 oz of protein some yogurt and 1/2 piece of fruit for snacks. Nothing else. Well. I didn't lose on that and that dropped my cals 200 a day from what I was eating. They said no more liquid protein or protein powder. All reg food. I'm eager for any suggestions.

The nut said not to worry about protein and put me on high fiber diet very restrictive plan. Be- oatmeal or yogurt Lunch- lots of greens with protein/ fish , chicken or beans - 2 oz Dinner- cooked veggie and same protein 3 oz. 2 snacks- raw veggie with yogurt dip or 1/2 piece of fruit. That's it. Didn't do anything really for weight loss Been on it for 2 weeks and no different from pushing the protein.

Nicole, How many calories are you eating a day? Can u give an idea of what you eat in a day? The tiny loss I had is back and after 2 weeks, from seeing the nut, I'm in the no weight loss category still. I eat enough salad for a whole hutch of rabbits!! Still 600 or less calories a day. That nut visit cost me $75. Grrrr. I am so proud for you!!

Celebrate, celebrate!! The scale was down for 2 days in a row!!! 1/2 lb and the lowest I've been since surgery. A real boost to the motivation!! I'm eating enough salad/veggies for a whole hutch of rabbits. This diet is very restrictive but I can endure if it will just work. Yeah!!!!!!!!!
