starting the journey in Mesa, AZ

Hi Tammy, I too was self pay. Surg. 8.16.07 Dr. Nirmul. It seemed only a couple of weeks passed from my seminar with True Results/Julie and boom...I was banded. Six months later and 50 lbs less. Have fun, enjoy the ride. It goes by quick. Lots of work learning about your new band. Kelly

    phoenix fills for midband?

You can try True Results in Scottsdale. Not sure if they will do it but that is the center I had my band and fills through. I also heard there is a Fills Center USA near Desert Ridge area which is in North Phoenix. Good luck.

I was banded in Phoenix by Dr. Nirmul at True Results. Self Pay $14,500.00. They do offer financing. It is all a 'good thing!'. Good luck.

    Before and after fill rules

I am getting my first fill this afternoon and am scared! Haven't read much encouraging information about life just after a fill and learning to live with it...so afraid of food coming back up! Can someone give me some positive feedback...please?
  9. Hi there, Banded 8-16. Eating foods slowly and chewing alot. I am not eating bread, tortillas, rolls, rice or noodles, waffles or pancakes. Ice cream too. I am afraid of the golf ball size yukkie stuff that may come up, afraid of PB'ing too. No soda. I have not been filled yet. When I do eat too much I get a really heavy feeling on top of my chest. Don't like that at all. Cookies, cakes and that sort are a no go to. Trying to be healthy...That's the goal.
  10. On the Bariatriceating.com web site I saw a liquid Protein Bullet in several flavors. Chill or pour over ice. Thought it would be good for traveling. Are they any good? Banded 8-16-07. Going to Disneyland in two weeks. Thought it would be good to have in the park...anyone try them yet??

    Stitches

Hi there, I was banded 8-16. I have two stiches sticking out. Both in different scars/incision areas. Saw surgeon yesterday for post op. He said it is the end of the dissolvable stiches that are on the inside. Once they fully dissolve these can be pulled right out. He said to check them every couple days and I can remove it myself when it finally comes lose. Already then!

    My hair!!!!

Hi there, Banded 8-16-07. This hasn't happened to me yet. My heart goes out to you...not sure what to suggest. Since you have been banded did you keep up with your protein each day? My Dr. says you must keep up protein. Best of luck. Things should get better...

    3 Days Post Op

Dutchgrl59 - saw you went to Disneyland post op at about 4-5 weeks. I am going at 5 weeks. Banded 8/16/07. Any problems...little concerned about Space Mtn and Indiana Jones and the incisions/port site. What about eating there? Any hints would be helpful. Thanks. azqueen.
  14. Hey there, banded 8/16. Liquid for toooo many days I can't count. One week preop of shakes only. I did do that okay. DH and kids went to Panda Express for chinese and brought me back egg drop soup. I drained the stuff out and sipped on the broth. It was great. Also drinking Isopure water 40g of protein in a bottle. Have you heard of drinking cold stuff post op will cause your stomach to spaspm? Are we only to be on warm liquids post op? When was your surgery date?

    August 15, 16, 17th bandsters

August 16th BANDED - WOW. Self pay. Dr. Nirmul - True Results. AZ. You read and read on the web about it then if finally happens. Too weird. Went in yesterday morn. 8:30. IV with a light relaxer (i asked for it). Went in at 10:00 and looked at the clock at 10:50am. Really quick. Went home at 1:00pm. 4 incisions of course port being the largest. Stiches, sterile tape, gauze. Felt good yesterday afternoon. Taking Toralab (I think) for pain. Last night really rough. Couldn't lay flat in bed. Pain in both shoulders and of course stomach. Ended up on couch with pillows underboth arms. Only slept for 3 hrs. This morning really sore. Especially at port site. Hard getting up and down. Watching the clock until more paid meds. Going to work on protein shakes and water. Hurts chest like someone sitting on it if I swallow normally so I sip. I heard cold liquids may bother some. Not me so far. Any other August bandsters...Stonersmom, 7thangel - both banded on same date I believe. How are you doing?
