New year, new me!
BustedBeauty replied to erikaloftin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! And congrats on the wedding! How exciting! The ppl here are so supportive and full of information. I would be a little more conservative on the estimate for surgery. I have no co-morbidities and have been super prompt and am 6 months in with no surgery date yet. I'm not meaning to be a Debbie Downer, just being honest about my experience with wait times. Keep us posted with your journey! -
Also, adding unjury unflavored Protein powder would help. Just make sure your soup isn't too hot when you add it or it will clump.

Dragging their ever loving feet....
BustedBeauty posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh have mercy. I have done all I need to do and am just waiting for a date. Surprise, surprise... The secretary who schedules is out of town until next week, and my surgeon is on vacation until Mid-feb. My patience are really being tested. ::sigh:: I am obviously going to keep strict on my diet, and keep exercising just like I have because the more weight I lose pre op the better, but can a girl catch a break??? -

Not Prepared-Please help!
BustedBeauty replied to ready2smile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Bring Chapstick to the hospital! You can't eat or drink and your lips will get very dry. Also, be prepared to feel bloated when you leave the hospital. This is because of the gas from the surgery and the fact that you will be on an IV being pumped full of fluids. Best of Luck!! -
What They Don't Tell You About RNY!

My Mom is almost 3 years out, and keeping the discipline once the initial BAM has worn offis a daily struggle for her. She doesn't dump often (if at all), so that varies person to person too. -

I'm sorry your MIL isn't supportive. Don't let her discourage you-- we are all in it for the right reasons because this certainly isn't the easiest thing to do! -

Hey everyone! I'm new to this group, I haven't had surgery yet, and quite honestly I don't know when my surgery will be scheduled for. I am getting nervous. I feel like I have been at this for ages, but I know that's me just being impatient. The program I am in is pretty intensive (don't get me wrong, that's a good thing-- I am getting so much info) but it is exhausting. I have had to go to orientation, 2 appts with my coordinator, one with my surgeon, 2 appts with a dietician, 2 support groups, and EGD, board of surgeon approval, had to lose 5% of my weight, and do an online education course...and now I have to do my psych eval and pre-op education before I can even be considered for scheduling. I'm really happy that everyone seems to be really supportive and accepting here, and look forward to networking with everyone!

I'm new here too, and am 2 steps away from getting my surgery date. It's refreshing to see other people have the same fears as me!

I always get mine from Torrid.

I tried to get in with Dr Graber-- they were ready to see me, and were going to schedule my initial consult for a few weeks out from my initial call..... Until they found out my insurance provider. Once they realized I was on Family Health Plus BCBS they pushed my initial consult out to Dec 2013. I am now in with Dr Oceguera at Cooperstown, and she is a great fit for me!

I am looking forward to: *Not being smushed in diner booths *Being able to walk into any store and not have to worry if they carry my size *Do Zumba again *Get out of my knee brace for the first time in 2 years *Be able to buy boots that fit over my calves
