  1. Ms Diva you look amazing. I love the fact that your body appears to be losing in all areas at the same time.

My shoe size went down from a 9/9.5 to a 8/8.5 ... I had to purge all my shoes.

I'm having a hard time shopping too. I started out in a 3x and now I'm rocking a Med/Lg and 12/14. I've had a ball closet jumping in my 21 and 10 year old girls closet. They got the nerve to get mad... But I buy everything. LOL

  2. A friend of mine is a bodybuilder and a personal trainer and I know that in training for competition she eats simply. Mostly lean chicken and non-starchy veggies. PB2 and Protein Shakes and drinks at least a gallon of Water per day. The night before competition she carb loads with complex carbs' date=' wild rice, Beans, etc. And right after she hits a Protein Shake. That is what most body builders do in general. I would hydrate really well the day before the run also. It will carry over to the next day. Eat a light breakfast of some Protein and carb and make sure you have light protein, like a shake, available for right after the run. Drink electrolyte replacing drinks in between.[/quote']

As a WLS patient you don't want to carb load like body builders. They actually do this the day before comp so that they look more vascular during competition. Meaning it gives the muscle more definition and also floods the muscles with blood so their vains will protrud. Carbs are good for everyone... Please don't mimic a body builders menu tho.

  3. Oh Em Gee... I'm about 2.5 months post op. Last week I had a measured 1/2 cup of black coffee with Creamer and splenda for the first time after surgery. LET ME TELL YOU.. I was so wired I spring cleaned my house and even every closet and cabinet.

I literally was high for 6 hours and going strong with cleaning. I woke up the next day sore and cramping. LOL

  4. I know everywhere you go the scale is different but how much of a difference?

In my digital scale I'm 109 in my old fashion scale I'm 114 now today at the state doctor appointment I was 123?

What is my weight? At home or at the doctor? If I'm going according to the doctor I'm going to weight every 6 months now yearly.

I'm so confused I guess after all I'm not over weight but I'm not a stick neither.

Wow! 109? What's your starting weight before surgery?

  5. You are already beautiful from what I can make out of your picture. So think of it this way' date=' as your weight comes off your friends, or some of them, will look at you as competition, they will become jealous, they'll be envious, and the list of issues can go on. Even some husbands can become stupid, because they think you are losing for another man, remember they love you as you were. They become scared, but will they admit that probably not. Just remember if happens to you, then they weren't your friends.[/quote']

You are so on point.... I'm going through this right now.

  6. Yoga is an awesome form of strength training. I work out like crazy like walking, jogging, calistetics, ankle and wrist weight exercises, medicine ball and I just started yoga a few days ago.

Let me tell you that the yoga has gotten me the most sore out of all the exercises. I felt every single muscle in my body hurt later that day. It was also too the most relaxing form of exercise. My daughter and I walked 4 miles and then I let her play at the park while I did yoga in the shade. I LOVED IT!

I'm planning to do it again today.

Go on YouTube and theres several workouts you can stream from your phone. You hold he positions so you're able to pause your phone between moves.

  7. I too cannot eat when I first wake up. Power thru that first shake of the day. Sometimes we just have to suck it up. I am now drinking one cup of coffee in the morning... (I am 15 months out) and to it I add one scoop of chocolate Protein... makes it taste good. You have got to get your Protein in... it is the most important key to this whole thing. Dr OZ has even said protein in the morning gets your metabolism going full gear for the day!!!!

My NUT told me not to heat up Protein shakes cause it reduces the protein. Unless its protein Soup cause its made for that. shakes arent designed for heat.

  8. I had my surgery on April 17th so just over a month & I've lost 30lbs and 70 in total. I haven't done much exercise due to the fact I have had no energy at all since the surgery. I average about 300 cals a day and 30g of protein! I can't do the shakes but I hope I keep loosing the way I am but who knows I'm kinda taking this whole journey one day at a time.

Just wondering why you can't do the stakes

  9. Wake up: Drink 16.9 oz Water bottle

    Take Calcium

    Breakfast: Dannon 2x Protein yogurt

Take Multi vit, D3, Iron, B12

    Morning Snack: Protein shake/milk

    Lunch: 6 shrimps

    Take Calcium

    Exercise: 60 min walk

Drink (2) 16.9 oz Water bottles

Need to have water completes before walk is over.

    Afternoon Snack: Protein shake&milk

    Take: Multi vit, Iron

    Dinner: 1 cup of Edemamas

    Night Snack: string cheese.

    Take Calcium

Bedtime: Drink 16.9 oz water bottle

    Approx: 70 oz of water

    Approx: 80-100 g protein

The more you drink the more water you can take in in less time. In my shakes I do half milk and water and that counts toward my water count too.

  10. I went yo Applebees at 2 weeks too. I ordered a "cup" of chili with no onions and extra cheese. This is packed in Protein and a good portion for you.

You can always ask the waiter to see the calorie menu too. It will show you Protein servings
