  1. So sorry you're going through this. I actually think your partner is being a little selfish and self centered. Trust me I know how she feels. I feel like my life revolves around my RNY but in actuality... It really does! This is a life altering surgery... It's not a temp thing... This is a really serious life long commitment that we've gotten ourselves in.

It's taking you a few decades to get use to living the way you did... She needs to allow you at least 12 months to get use to your new life.

I do feel for her... But dang she can cut you just a lil slack!

  2. If you have 6 hours try drinking one 16.9 oz Water bottle each hour. Youre still pretty new to the game ..the more you drink the easier it will get to get it down. As you progress you'll be able to take bigger drinks and closer together. You're still in the sipping every 5 mins stage.

  3. During my surgery prep the nurse had me sign a biopsy agreement and I was told that during surgery my Dr will do the biopsy on the colon and stomach and send it out. If I don't hear anything with in 2 weeks I'm all good. It's been 6 weeks and I guys its all good.

Also I was told that belly fat feeds cancer and the more I loose weight the less I'm at risk for cancer.

  5. I didn't seem to be in as much pain as everyone. My period was coming on the day I was discharged so the few days before I had more menstrual cramps more than anything.

Keep popping those pain killers and stick to program and everyday will be better then before.

  6. Hello I'm new to this site! I have just started out on this journey again for the second time and this time I'm ready' date=' I think! lol. in 2011 I started going to geriatric seminars, found a doctor was going to get the lap band, the doctor recommended RNY butbut I was hesitant about having such a serious surgery so I stopped the process. I'm a nurse I work with bariatric patients and have done my research so now I am considering RNY or gastric sleeve. I feel this time I am more informed, I take care of the patients when they come out of surgery so I know what to anticipate and although everyone is different the surgery part is pretty straight forward it what happens when you go home and start living life what but I guess I will find out forward. my initial consultation is may 9th with Dr Coirin in Modesto CA[/quote']

Hey there... Did you know that Dr Corin and Dr Patrick Coats has an office across the street from the hospital. They're only there Monday and Tuesdays tho.

  7. What I was reading was the bypass is a lot safer and a lot if people are having to cross over from lap band to RNY. I'm sure you won't have AS MANY complications tho.. if none at all. I would think having a foreign object in your body would cause issues alone.

  8. I only eat then if I'm on the go go go... I find that they have way too many carbs. I find eating low sodium beef Jerky is better than the Protein bars.

  9. I haven't gotten to the 3 or 4 month post op but I did experience hair loss a month before my surgery because of the blood transfusion I received in the hospital when I had pneumonia in late December. It only lasted for about a month and I purchased some clip in weave extensions to make my hair fuller.

A little advice for you all...

If you can't achieve it WEAVE IT! LOL

  10. I'm taking acid meds right now that they give you after surgery... I wonder how the lemon would affect the stomach. Doesn't lemon have a lot of acid in it?

  14. I'm post op 5 weeks and I stalled just the same. Make sure your taking your measurements too. I found that my clothe sizes were dropping quick but my weight wasn't. During week 4 my weight took off and scared the living crap out of me. I dropped 1 to 2 lbs every day and still am.

  15. I've got to get a schedule down too. I'm taking Synthroid and have to take on an empty stomach at least 4 hours away from any Vitamins. So' date=' that kinda makes it hard!!![/quote']

What about taking it during one if your middle of the night bathroom runs. You can keep a Water bottle in the bathroom.

    ~Leticia **HW: 259**PreOp: 216**SURG: 3/21/13 **Discharged @: 221**28 days post op. CW: 193.8 lbs<br />---ONE-DERLAND ---

  16. My Dr gave me a choice of 1 of 4 Vitamin combos... Then wrote out when to take them.

    wake up: Calcium

    Breakfast: D3, B12

Mid Day Snack; multi Vit, Iron

    lunch: Biotin

    afternoon Snack: Calcium

    Dinner: Multi Vit, Iron

    Before Bed: Calcium

Your schedule and Vitamins maybe different. Also remember you can't take calcium and iron together because they can't be obsorbed at the same time. You have to space them out 2 hours or more apart.

You also have to take your vits with food preferably with fat in it to help it obsorb. For some reason calcium can ve taking without good tho.
