Sorry you are having trouble. I don't know how I will do it either, but i heard you have a "honeymoon" period oif 6 months to a year to lose the most weight, so that is my motivation. I can't wait to get post opp. Maybe you could find a workout buddy so you can help eachother stay motivated. there is a buddy forum down there near the bottom of the forum list, you might even be able to find someone close to you. take care Kat

I feel the same way. I still am waiting for an approval. My insurance says the average about 7 business days, but my surgeon submitted on 11/27/12. They claim to not have gotten it till 29th. I called today and they said its only been 5 business days? Even if i go by th 29th, Maybe I'm bad at math, but today is Day 8. I am glad you have a date. Sorry for the rant

Hi mam....i know how hard it is to take careof those kids, a hubby and a home. i don't think i could handle any more, my son at 13.5 is going through all the changes and is not mylittle boy anymore, it is so hard to see them changing. I am inspired by your weightloss, i just called the insurance and they have still made no decision...still in reveiw....it is driving me nuts, and this shake thing is difficult but i am getting used to it. one question i always had was, what is the portion size of a meal when you are healed? i know it is going to be much smaller, but i dont that information till i go to the pre-opp class. also, what is the sip sip sip thing? i like water and drinka lot, will that stretch out the pouch? im just not clear on all the after surgery bits except for the liquid to puree to soft to normal...

well, for me, my weight has always beena struggle. i was big up through highschool and then suddenly lost abouut 70 lbs. i had graves disease (hyperthyroidisim) so i was sahhpy about the weight loss, but docs were concerned with my heart rate being so high. they gave me radioavtive iodine two times and then my thyroid was non functioning, so now ihave hypothyroidisim. since then it has been up and down with crazy diets, when i started getting all these other health problems i was unable to work any longer. i was a CNA/HHA for hospice patients. now I am on SSI because i am a mess. So i am getting the surgery to try and reduce the pain. So far i have been to the seminar, had my consultation, done tests (UGI, xray, psych ect.) and got clearance from my primary. the insurance started reveiewing my request for surgery on the 29th of novenber, they said it usuallly takes about 7 working days to decide....so thats where i am. i have 5 more lbs till i am at the surgeons requested weight and thats what i am working on now. dont want to overload you with ten pages of me junk,ask anything you want, and if you have something personal to talk about PM or e-mail me Kat

Ro32, I was 283.4 to start with. I am now at 273 and need to get to 268 for surgery. I get lonely too. My hub is away at work a lot and the kids are at school. Do you have any kids? What kind of adjustment? Did you have the lap band? I am excited but am praying my insurance will aprove me. I think I will have an answer this week. I hope your adjustment goes well. Let me know....and of you nèed someone to talk to....so do I.

didnt yoour doc give you a diet plan? mine said a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, then a small portion of lean meat and veg for dinner. he also said my shake must contain 30-40 g of protein and no more than 15 g of carbs. mine is 36 protein and 6 carbs. after the opperation i think the carbs go down even more so i just found a couplle now that have under 6. of course this is for my hight and weight and it is to lose the rest of my pre-opp weight requirement, i think i am on that untill 2 days prior to surgery....

i am only on my third day of this liquid twice a day diet. i am supposed to have a protien shake with 30-40 g of protien and less than 15 g carbs for Breakfast and lunch. then for dinner a small portion of lean meat and veg. so i have been styicking to it , this is the end of my third day. Ihave lost 6 lbs since 3 days ago and i only have 6 more lbs to lose till im at my surgery requirement, so as soon as I (hopefully) get my approval, i can get a date. trouble is i feel very sick. Nausiouse, weak, dizzy headache, and when i do eat i feel like vomiting. Did (or is) anyone go through this? i just feel so drained. i do have other health problems, lupus, pcos, fibromyalgia, and the list goes on, but i just don't feel right. feeling down too, I just don't know what to do to feel better....any suggestions? p.s. sorry i am a very bad speller and the typo queen of the world

i was only ever in a 10 for about 2 weeks, sad sad sad, been much bigger my whole life, i am taller, but i think i will be happy at an 8 or maybe a 10. my husband doesn't want me to lose the round booty, but i hate it so we will have to find some middle ground. i am just afraid of not fitting in my clothes nicely because of excess skin.

that is so encouraging.....i would love to be able to shop somewhere besides lane bryant....cant wait to fit into cute bras and undies instead of granny panties!

i couldn't figure it out either, so i just deleated mine from my signature....

no plans to give up at all. i am compleatly dedicated, i just feel horrible. i am going to try to spread the shakes out.....cut them in half and do 4 less concentrate shakes instead of 2....hope ithelps. thanks for your reply, encouragement is always good
