  1. Isn't it funny how we all obsess about our weight. For me, it used to be about every pound I gained now it's every pound I lose. Ugh! It's all I think about! Today is two months for me and I'm down 53lbs. Sounds like a lot except when u hardly eat anything and exercise daily, I keep thinking it should be more. This process is exhausting isn't it......
  2. I'm so glad I'm not the only one having issues eating! Surgery was 11.19.12 and I have lost 45lbs. I get hungry but still can't eat anything solid. I do my best to get in shakes but can only manage one a day. I know I'm probably only getting a few 100 calories but I vomit everything else up!
  3. Anyone else getting breakouts? I haven't had a blemish in years and my whole is breaking out! I also can't get down my anti-depressant meds. Crushing them makes me vomit and the liquid form is unbearable! Is it just me?

    Christmas

To avoid sweets but also to indulge, try Sugar free peanut brittle and /or milk chocolate from See's. Not the real thing but a small piece might satisfy. Works for me:)

    40's New Beginnings

Well, I'm turning 40 in two months so I think I'm close enough to join.... I had my surgery Nov 19 and haven't had any problems. Today I have officially lost 40lbs. There have been so many wonderful benefits and I am so happy I had this done. However, I still can't really eat much other than shakes, broth, and malt I meal. But I am finding new things to help everyday. Jamba Juice has a light menu with a sugar free yogurt blend that is fabulous. I can do decaf coffee with soy from most coffee places although I found Srarbucks decaf sits the best. I have been pretty moody but I am hoping that evens out and strangely my face has been breaking out quite a bit. I'm guessing it is low energy and hormones going crazy. Anyone else?

    Starving

I've Been having the same problem. I'm 3 weeks post op and have lost close to 30 lbs. My tummy is growling but I'd eat anything other than broth, malt o meal or protein shakes, I'm sick for an hour. Maybe I need to increase the number is shakes.... Ugh!

    I Made It

Yeah! Keep us posts on how you are feeling!
  8. You are fine! Having surgery or becoming vegan is a personal choice. People have an opinion about everything and love to share it. Be strong and do what's best for your body. When it comes to food and diet, there isn't a one size fits all and it's a shame a teacher would behave so inappropriately.

    Day Four

I had my surgery Monday (gastric bypass). I had this great idea that by doing it over Thanksgiving, it would be easier - kids out of school, husband home etc. I was so busy making it easy for everyone else, I didn't really plan for me. With everyone home, it's hard to rest and I'm really mourning food, which I hadn't expected. Although I have zero desire for any food, I am wondering if I made the right decision. I'm dizzy, and feel pain with every sip of liquid. Anyone else have a similar experience or going through anything similar?
  10. Head Hunger ugh! Love that! I too have that. I actually have to ask myself if I'm really hungry. So weird! I've also been going through a bit of depression but I'm getting out of the house so that helps. My surgery date was Nov 19 and I'm down 20lbs. Getting anything down is really hard. But I'm hopefully and I keep trying:)
  11. Buy in small quantities! I bought a ton of protein shakes and I can't tolerate them now.

    Day Four

That would be great! I'm in such better spirits today. I found I can tolerate Silk fruit and Protein and was able to get flavored Water down today. I bought some Grape Crystal Light. What a relief! I too have lost 19 lbs and have found walking is the best medicine for me. I actually hit Target today. Although I must admit I stared at the pumpkin Pie for several minutes wishing for just one bit. Then reminding myself that I can never have one bite which is why I'm where I am today. What has been the most difficult for you?
