hey all ! i weighed in today i lost 10 more lbs, since last monday! i'm excited! 1st day back to work, was in agreeance with CAZ was overwhelmed i came home early, but coworkers were VERY supportive, which made me feel happy! Nicole, aunt flo tends to play with our emotions, so chalk it up to " next week will be that much better", unfortunatly, we can close the door when she visits, so better off to open up and avoid the scale that week! and your fill was put off so, you'll be back on track in no time-Welcolme ShannonRT i see we have a couple of things in common!! hi everyone! , went to my post op appt yesturday, he said i was healing great ! he couldnt beleive i was healing so fast! he said i could have protein shakes again and put cream in my coffee! YIPPIE! I am also drinking the special K protein waters which are good, blended campbell's "soup on the go" vegetable medly and chicken w. extra small noddles (imagine that!) i feel SOOO much better with some protein, back to work tomorrow for me! happy day to all tomorrow!!

wow i cant wait to try them they all sound soooo good, still on clear liquids so, my time will come !

hi my florida banders! I live in jupiter, bout 2 hours from orlando! south..i am 3 days post -op! most of the pain is gone..so i'm feeling pretty good...miss coffee!LOL

what is the diffrence between the bands small vs large? i know 7cc vs 10cc but what is the diffrence do you loose faster, slower? :ranger: i miss coffee!

wow thats great! this room, after reading all the threads has a great positivevibe , which is wonderful! how long after your surgery to you return to work? and have you heard anything about this "new " AP band? july-banders should have gotten them?

dont worry it will be here before you know it! from what i gather i was very lucky, (i'm sure it had ALOT to do with being self-pay) i saw my surgeon for consult on 7-10, nutritionist,& psyh on 7-16, pre-op w/ my gp on the 20th upper endoscopy on the 27th and my surgery on the 31st! it all happened SOOOO fast! like a whirlwind,glad its over (almost) i did have a hiatal hernial i'm hoping my insurance will partially cover hospital supplies or stay or SOMETHING...that would be soooo nice ...but highly unlikley

i feel ok, shoulder gas pain was the WORST my stomach , port dosent hurt but the shoulder thing was terrible...after the groggy-ness wore off i felt much better took my bandaids off today and the sites look GREAT! i was soo worried, i would scar, but they are very tiny, my doc said he put the new "AP" band in for me, so i was happy to hear that..and heprin shots are a pain.. but i'm getting there... when are you getting yours? not a lucky 7? ....

well, you definatley came to the right spot! i was banded yesturday and although i hate being laid up i would do it again, the pre-op diet theat i made it through was a tremendous boost of self-esteem and morale.. getting thru this with a great support system was key ....it was amasing how fast my surgery came up i had my consult on july 10th,nut and psh, on 7-16 and pre-op with my MD on 20th and surgery on the 31st ..the nutritionist and the therapist helped me out alot...really take your time with them they will support you and help you with your fears and concerns- Good luck!

oh, i definatley took that advice, i had my surgery 9am yesturday am, and in recovery for about an hour and a half, but i had set my mind on leaving the hospital same day, so i got up got dressed and went to the bathroom, my nurse was like "wow" i cant believe your up and around! i said well, i've had a c-section, and this isnt nearly as bad...they let me rest for a bit i was discharged @ 3:30 and in my bed by 5pm ...still walking quite a bit, TRYing to drink as often as possible..my big pain is shoulder pain..walking actually makes it feel worse, but i know it will eventually help..

I was banded yesturday, my doctor was very excited when he came in and advised me his "new" bands had come in on ?Monday and i would be one of the 1st patients to get it?!? I havent heard of it he called it the AP (advanced performance) band...doen anyone know anything about this? and i know i will ask my doctor, but on post op diet are we supposed to be drinking the high protein shakes? someone told me i could put a little shake in my coffee ?:ranger:

13,500 in florida ..included Surgeon, anest, nutritionist, psych, slimfast, upper endoscopy (insurance copay), hospital stay, all medicines, and heprin shorts 3x's daily, free fills for life, AP mini port band, and all pre-op tests, labs, xray,& stress test. I got a loan from capital one intrest free for 18 months, which i thought was great but carecredit is also another good choice, b/c you can use it iin other participating doctors, if your sugeron dosent take CareCredit you cant use it there?!?

hi all i had my surgery @ 9 am this morning//@ home now, up walking. sites dont hurt. BUT OMG!!!!! This shoulder gas pain is horrible, please tell me someone has an answer for me! my stomach feels ok, like a bag of steele.can i do anything for this shoulder thing? please help!

hi all i had my surgery @ 9am rhis morning..i am home now, but i am having the WORST shoulder gas pain, can i releive this in anyway/? my sites do not hurt, although my stomach feels like a ball of steele, i am walking, moving, turning but this gas pain is very painful, any suggestions? should i take some pepto? Please help~

Hey Caroline! well I to am going to be banded this Tuesday! I'm in Florida. I am 29 years old and I am, needless to say, very nervous, excited and anxious! Reading these threads really helped me, the list of what to have pre surgery was great. and I really enjoyed doing my ticker tape another great tool in assisting my weight loss..today I have done all my laundry, watched the live video of the banding( think twice before doing that!), went grocery shopping for post foods, packed my hospital bag, and laptop, then I took some pre-op photo's for comparison, all in which helped ease my mind, and keep me busy! Thats all I can do..

good luck! although, i'm sure your on you way to recovery now, i'm jealous!! i have mine in 48 hours !! WEEEEEEEEEEE!

LOL ! today is my 14th day on high protein liquid diet, i to thought "no way" i could do this, but much to my surprise i am doing it, no cheeting! ( well once i had a bite of chicken), i think fear is my motivation, i went shopping for all diffrent types of soups, i prefer the optima slim fast vanilla, or boost high protein both low calorie, crystal lite packages, and i found some very refreshing water called metro mint, a little more expensive, but mixed with the CL and my vit C its very refreshing, I have read 3 harry potter novels to keep me busy, (which i can hear my stomach growl every now and then) LOL..i will snack on frozen Gogurts, jello's, egg drop soup is good, and miso soup is good for a change in flavor..surprisingly, i'm not as hungry as i thought i would be, after feating this i am very proud of myself for sticking with it , and its a great boost of morale!! YOU CAN DO IT!!

i am having my surgery on Tuesday 7/31/07 in florida, i am also VERY scared i had an endoscopy yesturday, and i feel better after that. I believe its natural to be freked out if you werent i'd be concerned! i look @ it like a memorable experience sooner than you know it you'll be posting comments on YOUR experience offering confort to those that are freaked out before their surgery
