Hi Ryan, my insurance would'nt pay for my surgery,so I had a low interest credit card took a loan out for $8000 went to Acunia Mexico to have my surgery. The cost then was about $7,300. That was October 2006. ~Betty -
Hello I was banded in Mexico also. I had mine done there because insurance would not cover it. It cost about half the amount it does here in the states. Mine was $7,300.

I think you should go for it. Im sure you and your husband discuss this before his heart attack. Just make sure you can arrange help for at least the first month hes home. Your health is important too and u need to be able to take care of your husband. -
Hi Don yes my Dr is Dr Carroll at River Oaks Hospital. I really like him a lot. Just misspelled his name. I was having one of those days LOL. Let me know how everything goes.

Hello Rogers11. Untill you get your first fill just try to eat only stuff thats good for you. Nothing fried!! I know its so good. You won't gain just try to eat the right things. Drink lots of water. When you get your first fill trust me you will start losing. Good Luck and don't worry, you'll do just fine!

Hi Rogers11 had my surgery Oct 2006 in Acunia Mx. I've lost a todal of 70 lbs. I've got about 15 to go. I've had 2 fills. I think the band is the greatest thing they ever came out with! When you get that first fill be careful what you eat. what you eat today you may not be able to eat it when you get your fill. You'll see what I mean. Good Luck!

Hey! Here's one of the Mississippi Folks. How has everyone been doing? I'm going next week to get a fill ! can't wait! I can tell I really need it. My dr is in Jackson Ms., Dr Carral. He is really wonderful. Im from Greenville which is about 1hr and 45min away.Just a nice drive.

Hi I Had my gallblatter removed 7-31-07. Trust me it does get better. Im on my 4th week out. Just hang in there.

I had surgury with Dr Jose Rodriguez in Acuna, Mexico. I had surgery October 2006 and Im doing great 65lbs gone. The staff was wonderful. I would highly recomend him. -

For me bread, hamburger, white bread, corn, sometimes lettuce, tomatoe, dry chicken. The best for me fish, soft scramble egg. -

Hi Im Betty I was banded in October 2006. I've lost 60 lbs so far I have about 15 lbs to go. I had my surgery in Mexico. Everything seems to be going really well.I found a really good doctor in Jackson Ms. to do my fills for me. Anyway just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone:)

I have been banded aalmost a year now . I havent lost in almost 6 wks. I have 2cc in my band. I need new food to try .any Idears?
