That is awesome! What kind of insurance do you have? Welcome to the group! April will be here before we all realize it!!

Ok add me as a friend and I will add you. After that you can delete me as a friend if you don't want to keep me (I know some people don't keep Internet friends on their personal pages). I create a group on FB for April Dates! It is called April 2013 WLS Re-Birth Group! It is a closed group but searchable. Add it and I will approve everyone!

I will be hiring someone if my sister can't help me then. I don't want to come home and have no help and be forced to do things myself. I just hope my husband will help out on the weekends. He tends to give me shitty looks if he has to do "too much" lol.

I'm having mine on April 22ns and I have 2 young kids. How long should I hire help for?!? My oldest daughter is 3 and disabled. How bad does it hurt? I have a pretty high pain tolerance and I have had 2 csection with my kids. Tia and I hope you feel better!

They didn't call me to tell me they got approval!!!!! So we submitted to insurance on 2/18. They came back on 2/20 and said they needed more info on the 6 months of diet via PCP. When I spoke to the office I told them I did not have 6 months of doc visits, that the insurance told me they could be Nutritionist or PCP visits. So the office told me that I would need to cancel the surgery and do two additional months of diet documentation via my PCP. So I scheduled appointments with my primary care physician and I proceed to go on vacation and go off of my liquid diet. I get a call yesterday stating that I need to come in for my preop appointment and preop bloodwork for my surgery on March 4. I told the office "no my surgery was canceled because I needed two additional months of diet documentation". So the Surgery Cordinator gets on the phone and says that she was able to get it approved and that I need to be here for surgery. I told her it's not possible because I have no sitter for my children while I'm up in Ocala because my sitter is going out of town on the 7th. And I will not have anyone to help me during recovery. So I had to reschedule for April 22nd but....... I AM APPROVED!!! *happy dance* It sucks that it is so far away but I have approval and they cannot take it away! I am sooooo happy. I just wish she would have called me in the 21st to tell me I had been approved. Then I could have just kept everything the way it was! She did say she would call me if they had any cancellations so my fingers are crossed for an earlier date!

Hi Kat! I am also April 22nd! It can't come soon enough! Congrats!

Heard back yesterday from the insurance company. After I did all the work, they want me to do an additional 2-3 months of diet documentation with my PCP. :-( Looks like it won't be until May that I have my RnY. Oh well, atleast I can eat on my vacation now! Lol
-
My insurance company came back and said they wanted an additional 2-3 months of diet documentation in addition to the 12 months I did with the nutritionist. So my surgery has been cancelled until end of May at the earliest.
-
Just that they wanted me to try for an additional 2-3 months. After that they will revisit. I believe it is because I have a Medicaid PSN. When I spoke to the customer service they said they usually try to push for 1 year of diet with the PCP. :-( I have 6 months. If I have to do another 6 months I will. It's all about the long term and it will be worth it. I am ready to stop being in pain and start being able to breathe and live.

Ab1986 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my Surgeons office sub,it tend to insurance yesterday. I have a tenative surgery date of March 4th IF my insurance approves my surgery. I'm really hoping they approve but now I am nervous. I go on vacation Sunday so I will be following the low carb/high Protein diet starting today. Next Monday I will have to start the 2 Protein shakes a day in place of meals and one light meal for dinner. Any tips to get through it all? Things to bring to the hospital? Favorite protein shakes and Vitamins? -
Any get approved by BcBs with having a written exclusion for wls?
Ab1986 posted a topic in Insurance & Financing
Hello, Anyone ever have any luck with getting gastric bypass approved with having a policy with a written exclusion? It isn't a employer based exclusion just a general wls exclusion. Is there any point in trying to get it approved or should we just try to find financing options? Thanks, -
I am hoping for a march date! I submit to insurance tomorrow and my ins coordinator at my surgeons office is going to give me a "dummy" date in hopes the insurance company approves in a decent amount of time. I'm praying for 2nd-3rd week of March!

Hello, We thought my husbands plan (BCBS of FL BlueOptions PPO) covered gastric bypass. Come to find out it is a plan exclusion (trying to figure out if it was an employer based decision or just the plan. If it is the plan we will try to challenge on medical necessity). We are looking into self pay financing options either through a medical loan or personal credit line. If you self paid or financed, what were your down payment and monthly payments? How long could you finance the total? Thanks, Ab1986

I just saw they did away with that program. They are no longer accepting any applications.
