    Now what's wrong?

I've had five strictures and the relief after each one is incredible. A day or two of tenderness and Then it's all good. Sooner or later the body adjusts and after that, it's far smoother sailing. Just remember to chew like crazy before swallowing. It's easy to get distracted.
  2. Could be a protein deficit too....

    What ya eating tonight?

How about this folks Chicken and baked veggie lasagna. Use crepes instead if lasagna sheets to make it easier to eat for us. Lasagna/ crepe topped with chopped spinach, place cooked chicken snitzel on top, add a layer of home made low cal béchamel sauce, then top with layer of crepe/lasagna sheet then roasted veggies chipped, I used pumpkin and sweet potato and carrot but you can use anything you want I guess. Another layer of crepes/lasagna sheets, top with béchamel sauce and paprika, bake and serve with fresh diced tomato and spinach. I used baby spinach, sweeter to taste. What do you all think of this? Use as many snitzels as are necessary to cover the lasagna pan. This recipe is a chunky one but it goes a very long way....

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I am now down 70kgs on my weight loss journey, my favorite NSV are my rings falling off as I flick wet hands dry, my necklace sitting a few inches lower on my chest, dropping from size 28 to 16 in jeans something I've not worn since I was 14, and I'm 51 now. My face is so different, people think I've had cheek implants, but it's only my neck and jawline so much smaller, buying clothes in the normal size range,

Wondering how many have now considered surgery to remove all the excess skin since weight loss? I've lost total of seventy kilos through lap banding and roux en y bypass, have so much hanging skin, don't want to be a model for Pete's sake, just want to walk and not feel like the tide is coming in, excess upper thigh skin and belly fat flapping In the breeze.... (Yeah, yuk, I know). Surely I'm not alone here?

    What ya eating tonight?

I had a bowl of pumpkin soup at the cafe where I meet some friends for coffee, it comes with a side of either cheese bread or garlic toast. I took the garlic toast. I dipped it in the soup and gingerly took a bite. This was the first bread I've eaten and kept down in nine years!!!!! Don't know that I want any More in a hurry, I just wanted to try it.

You are all so inspirational! I dropped the balls ages ago, have lost twenty five kilos, about fifty five to sixty pounds. Feel pretty good, only want to lose about fifteen kilos more. (thirty five to forty pounds). Does anyone else still struggle with head hunger or thirst verses real hunger? Pretty sure I've stretched my pouch, but I'm not gaining so I'm happy for now, but would like better control on intake at times. I have had times where I've had dumping syndrome, very few, as they take too long to overcome to be honest, so I avoid them like the plague! Struggle big time with bread so don't eat it, have had a little success with burrito wraps or mountain bread, lots of salad and a bit of chicken or ham. Once a week is enough for me and my craving for bread is dealt with with that. On the whole am very happy with the bypass surgery, verses lap band which I had first, and it almost killed me after eight years, causing so many problems I was virtually forced into the bypass, I was terrified, but I am so very very grateful now. My life is better, I'm healthier, happier, I wear a size sixteen to eighteen Australian sizing, I have a lot of excess skin which I'm looking into having it surgically removed from my belly to be honest, it just hangs there and no amount of dieting will remove it or make it go away, and I'm sure many of us are the same? I'd like to tighten up other areas, but on the whole, have the tummy apron removed will make me feel very happy. Something else that makes me feel very happy? Seriously? Knowing you are there for me to contact should I have a question. Or I just need to share a victory, or just need to know someone is listening. I know most of you are in America, and I am in Australia but we have all started this journey together, at the same time. We have all struggled with weight issues, with the bypass surgery, some have blitzed it afte the surgery, or some were like me and had five or more surgeries or more to correct closures and needed stretches done to reopen them, you have all been there for me, and I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for each and every one of you, for the support you offer to me, the joy you share with me too, and when I struggle, you listen and offer ways to overcome. I'm very thankful you guys are there at the end of the forums and answer my needs and questions. I have lots to be thankful for.

    What ya eating tonight?

Made some mashed potato, with ham, lo fat cheese, chopped parsley, chopped spring onion and some pesto seasoning for taste, made into potato cakes and dry fried in a non stick pan. Had three small ones, so yum for a change, and froze six more for later on. I find I still struggle with hunger, but I am learning it's from thirst, or head hunger, and I'm happy in learning this and becoming more and more aware and able to tell the difference. Juggling the balance of protein and salad or veggies is one I also struggle with, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. I am not gaining weight but I'm not losing either, I've now lost twenty five kilos since my surgery in December, a mere fifty eight to six pounds. Many of you have lost far more than that and I applaud that, I have fifteen kilos, or thirty five or so pounds left to go, and I believe I will get there. I do find liquids wise, I can handle far more than a cup full at any one time. So I do believe I have stretched my pouch, but when it comes to solids, some days I really do struggle. Does anyone else struggle with solid foods over liquids?

    What ya eating tonight?

Don't know what it is, hit six month mark and now I'm so damned hungry all the time.......... Eating well, probably not enough protein I guess, but I feel I'm eating way too much lately...... Did anyone else experience this around the same time? Maybe I should try eating denser foods? I tend to like soups for lunch or dinner? Can anyone give me any suggestions please?

    Amount of food?

I find at six months out, I'm still battling with head hunger, I'm never really hungry, I think I'm more thirsty and feeling like its hunger instead. I think I'm eating too much, 300mls of soup I get down easy, but only a few bites of solid food and I struggle for a bit, wait and then later, maybe a couple more.... I'm stalled with weight loss, but I'm losing in inches and lots of people commenting. I have 15 kgs left to go. I too don't want to destroy the size of my pouch, can't eat bread but manage ok with wraps if I chew, chew, chew.....I'm glad I'm not the only one...........

    What ya eating tonight?

I've become a fan of creamy pumpkin soup, I get it from Woolworths, 300ml tub. Some days I struggle to have it all, just recently, I've been almost tempted to have more, but I don't. If I'm eating solid food, might manage almost a cup of food, including salad, but mostly, six months out, five strictures in the early days, I like porridge in the morning, about a half a cup, lunch is my soup, sometimes some crackers with cheese, and dinner can be a mix but usually chicken or seafood. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the sizes of their meals? I'm worried I may be stretching the pouch?

    What ya eating tonight?

Hi everyone. I tried a dish I call chicken mexicana. A chicken snitzel, cooked, with home made guacamole on it, sliced tomato and some low fat four cheese blend baked in the oven until th e cheese melts. I wanted something different from parmigiana. Of course, could only eat half of it, bit sliced up cold in a salad the next day is just as nice. I was done in December last year, haven't lost anywhere near what most of you all have lost, only 24kgs, bit I only have twenty more kgs to go, so I'm happy enough I guess. I also added some herb and garlic dukkah to the cheese for extra flavour zing. I love it, I hope you like it too. I think using tenderloins next time instead of breast would give me more correct sizing.....

    What ya eating tonight?

I've been making a creamy pumpkin soup, pumpkin, onion and sweet potato, baked and then puréed in vege stock, add some nutmeg, just a pinch and then add a can of light evaporated milk. If low on protein For the day I add a scoop of vanilla protein powder, which also adds to creaminess. I make enough to freeze in meal portions, really enjoying it. If I get a cold, I bake in some garlic bulbs. Yummy hope you all like it.

Wondering if anyone else has become sensitive to milk products since having the RNY? I've become quite sinus-y with it, I used to react this way with wheat, but haven't eaten wheat now for several years. I'm just very curious? I tend to use cheese, or evaporated milk etc. in each meal, so it's becoming a bit of a hassle.

    What ya eating tonight?

I'm in Brisbane Australia. We buy the crepes frozen from woolworths, and we add what we want to them. In size they are about five to six inches diameter, as light as a feather
