I'm four months out..plus a little and I'm definitley getting my protein in without a doubt min of 70 grams and usually 80+, wokring out, taking all my vites plus Biotin, biotin shampoo/conditioner, the works....but hair is thinning a lot! It's scary, but I kknow from others that have had the surgery that it does come back. Mine has been a little wiry feeling, but diferent conditioners are helping.

Definitely look in to water classes/swimming if even for some moderate exercise...just doing some will make you feel better...will lift the brain chemicals some and you'll start to feel like moving more... there are chair classes for exercise and yoga...try it! Wondering why you have to wait until summer for surgery? Maybe you're a teacher like me? It just sounds so long to start tthe journey. I started mine in May of 2012 and was extremely impatient for July 23 to arrive! Anyway, best wishes to you on your journey and search for some pain relief. You'll get there if you're determined to get ther!

Went To Doc Today Bmi Is Borderline :/
laura619 replied to joyaskins34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel bad for you all who are having trouble getting approved! I was borderline too...a bit before...but with my comorbities, Horizon BCBS just wanted to see attempt proof (printed out membership to WwAND with my pcp's letter...I didn't have any trouble. Since the surgery I am w/o HBP, HC, Diabetes (a biggie!!) and my sleep apnea is almost nonexistent. Still c-papping though..number is way down...not sure I'll be a candidate for total removal but hey! Feeling great. Best wishes to all of you struggling to get the approvals! Keep on keeping on! -

FIGHT!! It's your life...your health! They should be happy you're going for it BEFORE they have to pay lots of $$$$ for your comorbidities! -

I know that I turned into a hermit...all I did was stay in my house and sew (I quilt) during those last two weeks before THE DAY! I would go out and lay in the sun, and then back inside when it got too hot. I couldn't stand being out among others for the most part. GOod luck! and I'm happy you're almost there!

I wish for you a speedy resolution and a rapid approval. I know it's hard for you now...I was there...but you'll get there. What a strange thing that your mom is getting it done too! Maybe it will be good for you both to have some support. My mother has always been a skinny minny and that was really hard for me to take...she wasn't supportive until I actually had the surgery...I think it was fear actually. It was hard to have a whole family w/o weight issues. But...I'm nearly 4 months out and very very happy. I can't wait for you to feel the happiness too! Good luck!

I can totally relate to your fears! It was exciting to advance to each food stage...but scary. I think LosingItForme's response is EXCELLENT! just exactly what I would say...and I would add....the fear factor is okay....it will help you to keep your portions small...but just don't let it overtake you as you stick to your doctor's plan. Take is slowly slowly slowly....and just make sure you are getting your fluids!! most important! I drank (and still do when I'm having a hard time) Isopure drink with 40 g of protein as part of my liquids just to ensure the protein Intake was adequate! You can do it!!

Went To Doc Today Bmi Is Borderline :/
laura619 replied to joyaskins34's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was just at 40 when I went (if my doc went with saying I was 5'8 instead of 5'9!! Haha. But I had comorbities...diabetes II, etc. etc. So I could have gotten away with a BMI of 35 I think. I feel for you guyz. I would say keep trying for all the proof you can for past weight issues and diet failures. How about a good therapist's recommendation? does that help? Doesn't it sound crazy that if you have over 100 pounds to lose that you're FAT enough? I mean, no offense, but I know what you mean...I guess my insurance is super good! I wish you all the best, best, best! <3 -

Be very careful! Eating too much can have nasty repercussions! -
I find the same thing...foam...I let it sit a little and then Gently agitate it .... the shaker cup didn't seem to get all the chunks and I detest chunks in my liquids!

The "before" pic I posted is probably 15 pounds lighter than I was when I made my surgery decision.
