  1. Just found site. Hello, I'm a 67 year young, Male. Just had surgery Nov. 7, 2012. My Dr. Is Jerry Monash. My weight at surgery was 343, a 6'1". Lost 25 so far. One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
  2. Galicia, I'm really sorry to hear all your going through. I know a lot about Panic Attacks. They can control your thoughts. Having PTSD from Nam has made me a different person through the years. I find if I'm stuck I get myself up and change the scene, and do anything to change my thoughts. What's the Dr. Planning for you? If I can help contact me. My prayers are with you. One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
  3. Well, so far 8 days I've not thrown up once and only had diarrhea twice the day of surgery. I guess I'm very fortunate that I'm doing well. Lost nearly 30 pounds in a week. My walking is 100% better, and so glad I did this. I feel so much sharper attentive, and full of energy. I hope your issue with Water will improve. Good Luck One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
  4. Were close together. I had my GBS on the 7th on Nov. I'm sorry your having difficulty. Have you discussed this with your Dr. ? It will in time get better. I take little sips of fluids and wait like 10 minutes allowing it to settle in stomach. Need a ear, I'm hear. One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
  5. My fears were that I would not make it, by was assured by my Dr. I would be fine. He was right lol. I've never regurgitated once so far. My Dr told me that if I follow the instructions I won't. He also said that people who throw up off and on is due to eating things with too much sugar in the product. I feel that after surgery it will not be as bad as you think. I went home the same day of surgery. I know that it's probably an exception, but be positive. It will be better, that's a promise. One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
  6. Yes indeed I did. Post opp 8 days. It's normal to fear the unknon. Let me quote my Dr. Monash, Tucson, Az. He told me when he handed me my Bypass Bible that if I follow the instructions I will do great. I have and feel great my only pain and discomfort is from the Staples in my stomach, Manley in the left side. I had my week check up on 14th and was told that was nothing to worry about. On the left side of my stomach area is 2 larger staples Connected to my large muscle. It will go away. You should get a binder that gives you exactly what you should do. After 3 weeks you will be able to start on solid food. Your diet will consist of liquids, Jello, broth, and Protein drinks. Must take in 84 grams a day, and 64 oz of Fluids. Try to put a full 64 oz of Water daily. My surgery was Gastric Bypass Surgery. Hope this helps. Contact me anytime. Good Luck! Bob, USMC. One step at a time. Stay Positive :-)
