    How about some NSVs!?!?

I just wore a pair of shorts I haven worn since my honeymoon several years ago. Also, I was able to walk 3 miles the other day and ended up dragging my dog behind me by the end of it.

8 weeks post op today. (Picture from the day of surgery I just showered no makeup lol) an today's picture. Down 35 pounds with a total loss of 52
  4. I was at my highest weight in January at 272. The day of surgery, April 22, I was down to 255, a loss of 17 pounds. I had a bowel obstruction and had a second surgery on May 15. I will be 8 weeks post op RNY tomorrow and as of today I am at 220, 35 pound loss. I get discouraged sometimes seeing others losing so much faster and have to remind myself at how amazing a 52 pound loss in 6 months really is! I just broke through a stall and I was going crazy during it. (It was my first one) you just have to keep reminding yourself that this is your journey. Only you and your body will dictate how it is going to go. Be patient with yourself, we didn't put all this weight on overnight. My goal is 150.... I too kept clothes as I have gotten larger and buy when I absolutely have to, but I try thrift stores and garage sales when I can. I started at size 22 and I am fitting into 16/18 right now.

Amen to all the zofran suggestions. The sublingual are great because the work pretty fast.

My hubby used to be stationed in Alabama so I know what you mean! But my best friend just got stationed in Fort Greely Alaska. She sent me a picture of her thermometer this winter.... -51!! I don't know know if it's worth it lol.

    What ya eating tonight?

I used a whole wheat tortilla. I only put about 2 tablespoons (if that) of pizza sauce (I like to use the squeeze bottle because I don't use much at a time) then I put mozzarella and a little fresh Parmesan, a little pineapple and couple tablespoons ham. I did it quick and put it right in the oven at 400 for about 10 minutes. That prevents the tortilla from getting soggy and it crisps up nice. You could use any toppings you like really. On Eggface's blog she has some super creative ones. I couldn't eat the whole thing cause I'm only 7 weeks post op but I knew that individually I could handle those ingredients and it worked

My RNY version of pizza. OMG! I have been craving pizza and it worked! It was exactly what I needed.

I think that's awesome. I'm no where near it. I feel like a failure.

    Strength training?

So I am 5 weeks post op RYN, 3 weeks post op bowel obstruction. I am ready to slowly start adding strength training but I'm a rookie... Does anyone have a suggestion where to start? Does yoga count as strength training? I don't have a gym membership and I'm not ready to get one yet.
  12. I'm 6 weeks post RNY and 3 weeks post bowel obstruction and I still struggle to get all my protein and water in. I'm better than I was in the beginning but still struggle. My dr didn't make me take my vitamins and stuff for the first month. I encouraged it but said that if you can't stomach them the first month you just can't. He wanted me to try but not force it. At a month out is when he said I need to worry if I wasn't getting it.
  13. I'm happy for you that you withstood the temptation. The fort to weeks of liquid only was by far the hardest for me. I had cravings and felt "hungry" all the time. You may laugh at me but at times I seriously wondered if my dr actually did the surgery lol. But I am 6 weeks post-op (3 weeks post bowel obstruction) and I now often have to force myself to eat. Hang in there!!

    feeling down

I am so sorry. I have been there. In fact I feel that way right now. I just keep trying to keep my head up. You keep yours up too. Just try to remind yourself that you can only do what you can do and all that is truly important is that you take care of yourself. If you need someone to talk to, cry with or lean on just message me.
  15. Awe! I love Navarre!! I used to live in Fort Rucker, AL and I miss the Emerald Coast so much. You truly do live in a piece of paradise.

Does anyone else plan a meal, shop for it, look forward to it, only to make it and then not be able to eat it?? I don't know why but it seems like it happens a lot. Thank goodness tonight's meal prep wasn't wasted because it was something my kids also ate.

    Let the Journey Begin!

Awesome to see you on here! I am just a little north of you in Pocatello, Idaho. My parents actually live in SLC it's nice knowing there at people closer than I realize. I had my surgery April 22 and then had a bowel obstruction surgery May 15. I'm 5'3 and my highest weight was in January at 272. On surgery day I was at 253 and as of today I am at 230. It's been tough at times but I'm loving feeling lighter and lighter!! I wish you all the very best!!

    Chicken?

I'm with you! It's my favorite protein but I haven't been able to eat it yet at all most 6 weeks post op. I've thrown it up almost every time.
