I drink the Isopure protein fruit drinks as well. I like passionfruit the best. I don't love them but I sip and sip and in an hour or two I've got 40 grams of protein in. I can usually get my other 30 grams through food. I can't do shakes that often because I really hate the creaminess, so the fruit drinks help. -
Whats for dinner tonight?
Lisa Collom replied to jaymi2521's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 slices of deli roast beef and 1 oz of low fat mozzarella cheese. -
I've been eating well chewed pickles for a few weeks. I needed the salty crunch.

I'm on high levels of Prozac and Wellbutrin. I have to take them both to stabilize my mood. I also see a therapist weekly. I will struggle with anxiety and depression most likely my entire life, but medication and therapy give me the tools to come out on top.

I do half low fat Helman's and half plain Greek yogurt in my tuna salad, along with chopped dill pickles and salt and pepper. -

I've been dyeing since I was 16. I started getting silver chunks in high school. Since its a bright shiny silver it's also dye resistant. Hello touch ups every 3-4 weeks. I refuse to go bald. -

I'm so lucky. I actually don't mind any of the isopure flavored. Passion fruit is really good. So I drink one a day for 40 grams of Protein and 20 oz of Fluid. My husband likes them too. Have you tried the Think Thin Protein Bars? There's a few flavored with zero sugar and 20 grams of protein. They are 260 calories though, but when I'm low and just can't eat much more in a day they are a great tool.

(Late Nov Early Dec Surgeries) - About 6 Weeks Post Op...
Lisa Collom replied to worm2872's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've stalled this last week too. I have trouble with the fluids, and I can't get over 600 calories in. I have zero appetite and absolutely no desire to eat. I'm bored to death of the food I'm eating. I'm tired of not being able to drink a big gulp of water when I'm thirsty. I am picking up Jillian Michaels 30 day shred tonight to get my rear in gear. I'm down about 40 lbs but I keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs this week. So I am staying off the scale til next week. -
I hope it passes soon! That is SUCH a miserable feeling!!

No one attacked you. You were provided with information that was helpful and informative so you could see that the old way you ate (that we ALL ate) is damaging and that since you're not eating that way anymore, you're not gaining. You can gain up to 5 pounds in water, btw, which is totally different than gaining fat.
-
If you aren't eating enough calories, your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to every calorie it can, storing it as fat. So your one meal a day was just as damaging as eating an extra 3500 calories. Our bodies need consistent steady calories (hence the recommended 4-6 small meals per day) for maximum calorie burn and to keep our metabolisms as active as possible. That's why upping calories and increasing exercise are often the keys to breaking a stall.

I just mix tuna with about a teaspoon of mayo and a tablespoon or so of Greek yogurt. Salt and pepper, chopped onions and chopped dill pickles. I have to say though, I swallowed a piece of cucumber last night without chewing it enough. It got stuck and everything came up. Just remember to chew, chew, chew!! -

I had horrible insomnia before the surgery. I have slept like the dead since. I think I've only taken my trazodone to fall asleep once since Nov. 26. My pouch has strong aversions to creamy food. I do much better with some texture. My current favorite is tuna salad (made with Greek yogurt and a tiny hint of mayo) with chopped pickles and onions on top of sliced cucumbers. So good. The tuna itself won't stay down but it will with the cucumber. -

I used depo after my daughter was born and stopped them about 2 years later when we wanted to have another baby. It took me 2 years to get pregnant...my kids are almost 5 years apart. I have horrible periods that never stop. I've had the mirena IUD and I love it. I've had no problems.

I can only eat scrambled eggs or quiche. No poached, fried or anything. I can't even look at it. My pouch is fine with them fully cooked.

Yesterday I got my mother-in-law's very typical "just think how pretty you'll be when all the weight is gone!" It's a classic. Her second favorite is to tell me how I won't need my meds when I'm thin, because my lifelong anxiety disorder and depression will be cured by being thin!! Lol. I just have to laugh. -
I had three bites of prime rib at my in-laws. Chewed really well, went down fine. But I don't eat pork at all.
