  1. The main thing I've done is to double the scoop in my pshake...so mixing it with 8oz soy milk I it gives 52 g of protien...i split that into 2 different servings..1 in the a.m. for bfast and 1 later in the evening as a late night snack. I haven't done much as far as trying alot of new combinations, I've been keeping things simple...i might have refried Beans and add a slice of a lf cheese, or just plain canned chicken,..I've been sticking with simple higher protien without allot of hoopla! If you do d scoop your pshakes keep in mind your body can only process about 30g at a time so it had to be spaced out

You guys need to use the spirometer....ten times every hour...you want to keep moving the crap out of your lungs...you don't want to end up back in the hospital! In the hospital they had me sleep up right in. the recliner cuz of coughing..nurse threatened me I would be laying there with tubes down my throat...i had to stay 2 extra days because my oxygen levels kept dropping and almost had to come home with an oxygen tank....USE YOUR SPIROMETER!

But the pain will pass...i would rather go thru a short struggle pain than the rest of my life of major health issues....here is my Biggest Reason for doing this...3yrs ago at age 45 I was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer...it was Hell going thru radiation 5 days a week for 10 wks plus 2 rounds of internal radiation that were 3 days at a time and chemo every week...although I've been in remission for 2 1/2 years it put me on the couch feeling drained..moving less everyday..gaining 50 lbs and now dealing with more serious health issues...I'vE finally decided I've gone thru too much to just sit back and let high blood pressure or diabetes take over! I'm 49...I'm not ready to croak yet! I am disabled as I'm legally blind and have both my corneas transplanted....I'm not ready to give up yet!
  8. I know how you feel.....eeecccckkkkk lol!
  9. While its good to come here for advice and also to compare strategies, we should never get caught up in comparing our losses to someone else...this is an individual journey for all of us...i applaud all of us for taking the first step!

A binder is a tight wrap that helps kinda hold the stomach muscles...kinda like a girdle...its nice to wear for a few Weeks after surgery..really helps to keep you more comfy

    smoking

    That's an awesome choice!
  17. Ok,i have yet to come across a thread about cigarette smoking! was I the only smoker before surgery? I smoked for 33 years and quit 1 month before surgery. So far I'm doing great and feel I've kicked the habit but it's only been 2 months. I'm wondering if anyone else has quit for the surgery and then started again?
