Thank you all...I just feel the need to get on with this. I feel kind of like at the end of pregnancy...let's get the messy part over and get on with the good stuff.

I distinctly remember being told you could have an occasional soda after at least 6 months post op.

I've worked in a hospital for 10 years...I'm going tot keep my water hidden near the nurses' station, on the employee side. I'd never bring something going in my mouth in our patients' room. Between airborne funk and possibility of forgetting it and having someone mess with it (I work in psych), I will just make a lot of stops.

Don't they tell you that it is not uncommon about 4 years out to regain about 20ish? I hope you get back on track. Getting off insulin must have been great. If I get off insulin, I hope to never have to stick myself again.

Yes it does...I got it once as an anti-tussive- as cough syrup. It works extremely well for that.

I'm still pre-op, but when I was on Metformin before, I gagged a lot when I had to take it. Especially if I hadn't had enough to eat before. I was on it for PCOS. I'd still talk to your doctor though, before you stop it. You might not be needing very soon anyway.

You need a new doc. If he does not see eye to eye with you about your condition he is not a good fit for you.

@bekki03---just visited Vermont this summer. Beautiful state! I would like to go on rides with my daughter when she is old enough. I would like to no longer fear booths! I want to be able to go kayaking this coming summer. I tried when we were on vacation last summer, and I am pretty sure it will be easier when I am lighter and smaller. My surgery is in February, and I have reservations to go to Montana this summer and I am hoping it will be more comfortable this year to travel.

Oh, my. That's terrible! I am worried about complications. I hope the best for you and a speedy recovery.

I just received a letter about the vitamins from my surgeon. They have a recommended schedule, to optimize absorption. I haven't had time to really figure it all out yet...
