JAN 2013 POST-OP PICS
Nick's Grandma replied to mrsb12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my 1 year post op September 5th. The top photos were taken on June 25th, 2012 at my pre op consultation. The bottom photos at my 1 yr post op. 240 lbs down to 137 & still slowly decreasing. I am a much healthier girl for having done this & feel so much better! I am so happy I did this! -
What A Journey this has been.

Greetings! I too, am over 55 (57 next month) and as of yesterday, am 6 months post op. I understand your concerns as I felt all of the same emotions prior to surgery. I longed for the day when I was past the worst part. I did have post surgical pain but it was manageable and temporary. The gas pains were normal because of the gas they put into the abdomen to create working space for the surgeon and their instruments. That was uncomfortable but temporary. Gratefully, I didn't have any complications and my hope for you is the same. I am down 81 pounds and am only 12 away from the pre-op goal set for me. I feel great and have so much energy. There will be some rough patches but keep in contact with your bariatric surgical team. They are there to help you through. I wish you well. Stay strong! -

Nice moist scrambled egg-spray coffee mug with cooking spray, crack one egg in cup , add 1tbsp milk & beat with fork. Microwave for 35 seconds, stir & microwave for 35 seconds more. The result is a nice, moist scrambled egg. Sometimes I put a slice of low fat cheese over the egg once on a plate & microwave it for another 8-10 sec. It is really good and gives me 11 grams of protein. I hope this works for others! -
I may have to see if that is available here. I used Miralax prior to surgery so it is no surprise that the battle continues! Thanks for the info!

First Time Posting
Nick's Grandma replied to kellbell5's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Greetings everyone! I too, am new having made my first post yesterday. I find comfort in reading your posts and that others share such similar feelings to those that I have experienced this year. Every day, I went through a roller coaster of emotions. I am 12 weeks post op and am down 60 pounds, 2/3 of the way to my goal. I did this to regain my health. I never allowed myself to get wrapped up in size & style but rather feeling good. However, the benefit of smaller sizes feels pretty darn good. It is a rush when you have to go down a jeans size ... Or even be comfortable wearing jeans! It gives me that push to keep it up. Thank you to all of you for sharing your very personal stories. I understand first hand, as all of you, that this is a lifelong journey and that when one thing changes, you have to rethink everything. I am so happy with my decision to move forward with surgery. I never feel deprived and know that I am in control! I wish all of you the best and applaud you for sharing and being so willing to help each other through this! You are amazing! -
Good luck to you!

Hello everyone! I have been browsing this site for a while and have found comfort in learning that others share similar feelings to those that I have experienced this year. Thank you for sharing! I am 12 weeks post op and feel great! I too found comfort in food through the years but as good as chocolate and cookies are, they pale in comparison to how I feel now. 60 pounds gone and no more knee or foot pain! Besides that, the benefit of dropping several sizes feels pretty darn good too! I do not feel deprived. When one thing changes, you have to rethink everything. I was nervous too when I started this journey. Hang in there! Take one day at a time. Good days are ahead of you!
