Support isn't all about blowing sunshine up people's azz all the time. There are times when questions should be asked about choices. If I wrote that I went to the fried food eat everything buffet, I would hope someone would question my choice & not applaud it. If i wrote that i skipped my postop appts, please call me out. We're going to lose weight regardless of choices during the honeymoon period. That's why it is a good idea to make healthy choices now & create a habit of it from the beginning. The several year post bypass people I work with that have gained back lots of weight are drinking sodas, eating high carb foods & grazing all day. They went back to bad habits. One of them told me she wished someone would have questioned her choices directly rather than talk behind her back as she found out through the grapevine. The other is talking about having a revision surgery to make her lose weight again when she could just alter her choices. some people are very alone in their choices and don't have any source of feedback other than here. We all learn from each other. I believe this thread is about sharing food ideas so we can develop some (healthy) variety in our dietary choices. I know I've seen things I want to try & some I wouldn't eat & make me shake my head but I look forward to seeing what people are eating. -

I miss sushi! I'm afraid of it because rice is the only thing I've gotten sick on. I'm a little over 3 months. -

I tried Hungry Girl's version of Chicken Cordon Bleu. OMG it was so good. Just 3 ingredients - chicken breast, ham & a wedge of laughing cow. Couldn't finish it but it was delicious. -
The nice thing about a lot of 5k events is that walkers are welcome. Takes some of the pressure off to know you don't have to run the whole time or at all.

At the grocery store tonight I saw Coffeemate & International Delight liquid creamer in sugar free. Saw French Vanilla, Hazelnut & some other flavor I can't remember. I also saw chocolate sf powder Coffeemate on clearance at Target yesterday.

I sent a friend request Susie Nelson Sosnik Thanks for creating a private FB group! -
March 1 I will be signing up for The ColorRun 5K in Charlotte. You wear a white shirt & every K, they shoot color on you so that you' re a rainbow mess by the end. They do these all over the US, ours isn't until October but really looking forward to having fun with it.

I enjoyed Planet Fitness, especially the Cybex Arc trainer but then I moved. My new gym is right next door to where I live now & offers Zumba, Body Pump, Spin, Kickboxing, etc. My goal is to be able to survive a Spin class - lol. I guess I traded my beloved Arc trainer for classes so it's all good. If you are a PF member, try the Arc. You butt & legs will get a great workout. Work up to doing it without holding on to the sides & your core will also benefit.

Pre Op Protein Search
mom2lucky (suznc) replied to Gibbys Goddess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nashua Nutrition sells single samples of many different brands for $1.95 each. Chike is yummy! Lots of people like Unjury but I wasn't crazy about it. They sell samples too. -
I saw sugar free French vanilla Coffeemate. Think there was also SF Hazelnut too. Not sure about plain though. It was the powder form.

I freaking LOVE Chike!! I mix up the vanilla every day with cold water in a Blender Bottle. Blends up smooth. 2 scoops is 28 gms of protein, individual package is a little less. I couldn't make my 80 gm daily goal without this stuff. Only wish it was sold in stores & in a bigger tub.

That's good that you've been able to exercise self control with your food choices but just because we all had surgery doesn't mean we also were cured of our food desires. People will push their limits, it's human nature to be curious or to be bored with food choices and want to explore. Yes, it can be dangerous going back to trigger foods; not all docs follow the same plan. I'm also 11 weeks out & have been allowed to eat soft steak like filet mignon for a month now. I've only had it once and only an ounce but it wasn't cheating per my plan. I haven't dumped but I also haven't eaten anything with >9 gms of sugar unless it was milk or fruit. I'm over halfway to goal with a loss of 62 lbs - all lost postop since didn't have to do a preop diet. I log everything I eat on MFP & my food diary is viewable to my friends there. It's honest but not always perfect. I feel compassion for those struggling with food choices & hope they will learn & make better choices next time. Don't let others' choices affect your choices. Reading the posts should reinforce to you that you are making the right choices for you & make you feel proud of your success.

I went for one last night & I didn't have any problem pulling my pants legs up, no difficulty getting in the massager chair & didn't jiggle like jello when the chair was massaging me - at least not as jiggly as 60 lbs ago. I was so happy I almost cried from joy! -
Hemoroids post op anyone?
mom2lucky (suznc) replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you on that. Sitting all day is no picnic either. Coworkers must think I have ants in my pants when I keep trying to find a good chair position. -

mom2lucky (suznc) replied to michelecaples's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG yes. The last week has been awful. Started taking softener every day & that helps but not sure why they're a problem all of a sudden. I would have thought less weight or not going daily would help but apparently has no effect. -
Im sooo afraid of getting dumping!
mom2lucky (suznc) replied to mommytonya's topic in Food and Nutrition
What made you dump? -
How are you doing with water? Are you still waiting at least 1/2 hr before & after meals? Drinking with or too soon can push the food through & increase hunger. Hang in there & try getting back to basics.

Wow Gen. Good thing you went for another opinion. I would most definitely let the gyn surgeon know that you have these abscesses & he misdiagnosed you. I would probably call the 1st hospital's Risk Management dept to report the situation. They will conduct an internal investigation. They need to know this happened. I hope you are painfree soon & don't need the drain.
