Five months post op today.
LA GP replied to mommytyree's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's awesome! That inspires me to have hope for that much. I feel guilty to even hope, but I never thought I would lose what I have, either. Feels like a dream every day! -

Actually I buy a great deal of business attire from Good Will. You can get some great clothes for next to nothing, so that if I continue to go through sizes my cost for new clothes won't be as bad.

Finally broke down to go buy new clothes yesterday. Old clothes hanging pretty bad. I was absolutely stunned to get into size 36 jeans and size large shirts! I never thought Id see these sizes again! Even belts are on the very first hole so had to get a new one as well. It just seems so surreal to see this happen; like Im in a dream! -

Yeah I've been plateaued at 236 For the last 2 weeks now. I usually wake up at 2 or 3 am every night. Its cool because I get up and work on homework. Im patient with the weight. Im going to get more exercise, Protein, and Multivitamins in. Eventually it will come off. It has to! -
The dreaded plateau... or stall.
LA GP replied to Jilllorraine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same place as you. Im floating at 55 pounds lost. But I am hitting a plan to workout and get more water and protein. Im frustrated and I want to kick it in again. -

If I may take a moment to compliment all the ladies: ya'll are HOT! I mean that in a complimentary way. Not some psycho pervert way. But ya'll should hear it because it's very true. -
So happy to be overweight!

Im with you worm. I have dropped into obese but still moving. I didn't like the word "morbid." But those words will soon be gone forever! -
Lol. My wife and I were walking in the neighborhood and she said "I smell somebody barbequeing!" I responded with "Yeah, they are having 90% lean burgers with salt and pepper, they are ready to come off the grill, and its the back of that house right there!" I wasn't kidding!

Yup. Pretty normal. Mine hit at about a week postop and lasted a good week and a half. Incredible pain on left side up under edge of ribcage.
-
I've lost 43 pounds in a month but I don't think most lose that much.

My wife had lapband and I did the bypass. I am happy I went with my decision! Waaaaaay more inclined to lose weight! Instantly off high blood pressure cholesterol. Once I lost about 30 pounds I didn't use cpap anymore. So much more energy and breathing easier! Wife said she is happy but she works twice as hard to lose and mine comes off pretty easy. Sometimes I think Im dreaming when i reach down and feel the belly! You aren't doing something crazy. You are taking your life back! Your whole relationship with food will change for the better! Oh yeah I was prediabetic as well. Gone! The only pill I take now is a multivitamin.

Ain't it nice!? Just got back from DC; flying in planes is so much nicer! Oh yeah, TOMATO JUICE WHILE FLYING! Goes down good.

It's funny, before I never know anyone with this surgery. Now that people see me and talk to me, everyone wants it! I lay it out there with the benefits and risks. But I am a walking poster for all my guy-friends. Beware, its not just the ladies! Yeah, I had to give up beer and pizza and steaks and all, but isn't that the idea? Better to live and be healthy!

No regrets from me. Best decision I could have made! To me though, it seems like Im dreaming. I keep expecting to wake up fat again. I step on the scales and Im ALWAYS amazed at the losses! My clothes are really drooping on me now when they used to be way too small. Breathing so much nicer. No med anymore. More energy. Better sex. Better potty moments (sorry no better way to say it!), very much happier with myself, no longer a slave to fast foods and all. I should have done long ago! Its a personal decision, so make your own choice. But For me, AWESOME!

I did it and haven't heard anything yet. Faxed it in and its about 3 weeks.

I try to find something I enjoy doing. Walking my dogs through the neighborhood is my thing. I just can't do the treadmill over and over. Looking forward to summertime and getting in the pool to get more active as well.
