has anyone experience dizziness
snow25 replied to ladyflagg's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Dizziness and headaches could be a sign of dehydration. Also, make sure you are getting enough nutrients in. Your body needs Protein and other nutrients to function. If you are not getting enough, your body goes into starvation mode. Good luck! -

Hey Paul, do you know how to modify amounts on my fitness pal? For instance, this am I had a 1/2 scrambled egg, but the only choice is 1 scrambled egg. Just curious.
-
Okay, I cheated... I had a 1/2 of a soft scrambled egg this morning. Oh my... After not eating food for 3 plus weeks, it was delicious! I used an organic cooking spray so no fat added, little salt & pepper. Yum!

Good Luck Ashley! The 2 week pre op diet is no joke, but so worth it. I lost 22 pounds before surgery on the 2 week liquid diet. Now post op the weight continues to melt away. I am looking forward to more energy so I can keep up with my son. Good Luck with all, Ashley!

Still walking the street 2 times a day. I do not have much energy to go further than that right now. 8 days post op and feeling good.

Girl, I have taken a nap everyday post op! I am not a nap person, but I get worn out. The other day I fell asleep at 2 and woke up when it was dark outside. Your body is running a marathon inside as it heals. Your systems are working crazy hard to heal up all the cutting and stitching inside. Take your nap. I'm sure the fatigue will go as our bodies heal. -

I really want hungry. There were several days that I did not drink all the shakes because I was not hungry. Good luck!
-
Good Luck! Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Surgery is in 2 days and I'm feeling super nervous.
snow25 replied to Timmers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Tim. It is very normal to feel nervous. I just kept focusing on how much better I would feel, how much healthier I would be, and what it would mean to be able to run with my son! You will do awesome! And how great will it be to have energy to keep up with your daughter. Good luck. Praying for a speedy recovery. -
Not Prepared-Please help!

I had a lot of nausea after surgery, but pain was very manageable. Walking as soon as you feel up to it helps get the gas out... And you want it out! I've been on a liquid diet with Protein shakes. I ordered the unjury sample pack which is Protein powder you can add to almost anything. I am 7 days post op and feeling good. The unjury you can order from their website. Good luk! -
Good Luck Nancy!! Doing great. Keep it up!
-
Nicole, you were the 19th right? All of that sounds delicious. I've been liquids for 3 weeks now (2 weeks pre & 1 post) and man I am ready for some food!
-
Optifast is a prescription diet my surgeon requires. It is 4 Protein shakes a day plus a powder soup for dinner. The taste was fine. I am like you, I kept it as a competition with myself. You can do it! Weigh daily... The weight really does melt away!

I take levothyroxine daily and it is a tiny pill. Even that is a bit difficult and I only cut it in two. I can't imagine having to crush a bunch pills.

Please, if you can, send up a prayer for SimplySouthern. She had had a very hard time since her November surgery. In and out of the hospital and feeling pretty bad. She is back in the hospital. We are all awaiting to hear how she is doing. Pray, ohm, mediate... Whatever your flavor, lets lift her up.
