  1. I just hit my 7th week post op and with the holidays coming up I was thinking about when I would be able to have a drink? I should just call my doc but does anyone know if there is any timeline restrictions for a drink? (I know it will hit me harder now than before)

    Pouch Worries?

I'm 6 weeks, almost 7, out of surgery and had that same worry. I actually gained a pound when I went to purred food from liquid. It freaked me out and got me upset. But now 7 weeks out I can definitely tell you there is a limit to what you can eat. My advise is to stick to the food plan the docs laid out. Find your satisfaction point no matter if its 1 oz or 5 oz and don't be discouraged at this point. Give it another week or two and if you are still at a stand still with weight talk to your doc.

    Dehydration

I'm about 6 days out from surgery and I feel more and more dehydrated. Any suggestions on how to stay hydrated?

    Intro From Ct

Hi there! I just had my bypass 6 days ago and they found a hiatal hernia during the surgery. They repaired it and I have to say the hernia was some of the worst pain I e ever felt. Be prepared to ask for pain meds. It takes away from the bypass pain but for the first 3 days the hernia was the major pain I felt. It seems to be mostly gone now and I still have some pain from the stitches and surgery but it is mild and very controllable. It is best they get the hernia fixed but its not an easy few days. P.S. 6 days out and I'm down 8.5 lbs even with everything they pumped into me at the hospital.
