  1. I completely sympathize! Let me start by saying I am feeling much better, but the first few weeks were absolutely awful. At one point I ended up back in the hospital for dehydration and begged the coordinator to reverse my surgery. I have been told the 1st 5 wks are awful, so just know it does get better. Hang in there!
  2. I'm a huge salad fan, and I'm hoping to be able to enjoy them again someday. Has anyone been able to eat salad, and if so what dressings have worked for you? Traci RNY 11/5 40lbs down
  3. Yes, incredibly thirsty all the time. I literally drink water around the clock. Traci

    Pancakes

Pancakes are my favourite food! Good to know there are options in my future.
  7. I've used splenda and truvia for about 6 years. Now I can't stand the taste! This is extremely frustrating and limits what I can eat/drink. Anyone else have this issue post-op? And is it temporary? RNY 11/5: down 35 lbs

  9. Kiwi- how long ago was your surgery? Mine was 11/5

    Water

So I'm craving a diet mountain dew. What if I bought a single serve, poured half into a glass, put the lid back on the other half and shook it til it's flat. No carbonation, shouldn't be an issue, right?
  14. You guys are troopers! I have no desire to go back to work, I have no energy, nausea, and no support where I work.
  15. I get the same thing! Don't know what it is, it's almost like my "old" stomach is having major hunger pains minus the hunger. Weird.
  16. That's probably my biggest fear- not ever feeling better. I'm two and a half weeks out, still battling soft liquid foods. Not necessarily nausea, but I don't like how it feels when I eat. Doc said focus on water intake first, then protein, then soft liquid foods if I can, but let's face it, if all I can ever tolerate is water I'll die. I'll be following this thread, looking for inspiration and hope.

    Nausea

Did your doc give you a rx for zofran? It seems to work for me.

How did you feel the first few weeks/first month? I'm struggling. No energy, don't know how I'm going to go back to work.
  19. So, the taste bud change isn't temporary?

    Insurance Approval

Well my coordinator has already talked with my insurance company, they're submitting everything this week. I'm just wondering if my insurance co would have told the coordinator from the beginning that I had to do 3-6 mos diet supervision or will they wait until I submit all of my testing from the doctor....hhmmm

    Insurance Approval

Oh and I have bcbs of MA

    Insurance Approval

So who is it that tells you you have to wait three or six months? The insurance? The surgeon/coordinator? I've had all of the tests, started in September, and am hoping for a November surgery. The surgery coordinator knows this and hasn't said anything at all to me like it might not be possible.
