Fabulous February Post-Op's
ArmyWife&Mom replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all, I just got back from a brisk 1 HOUR walk listening to music and yelling at myself for being lazy. I even jogged from 8 house away back home pretending I was being chased. LOL. So far today and its 11:09am I have had 1 shake 30g protein 160 cal and a 20g protein bar 180 cal !!! I need to hold myself accountable! Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 197 GW 140 -

I am starting to feel this surgery will not work for me. I was 217 on surgery day and it is 7 weeks and I am only 197. I have lost nothing for 3 weeks! I get at least 50 oz of fluid in and have been getting at least 60oz of protein. Confession is that I have not been exercising!! I had an open RNY and recovery was rough and then got bronchitis and am still suffering airway issues but don't want to take steroids. Will walking everyday really move the scale??? I hope so, I am being honest, so no haters respond. Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 194 GW 140 -

Welcome Ron,sounds like u r doing great. I had surgery on 2/14 and have list 20lbs. I feel a bit discouraged for 6 weeks, but I have to remember how it may have take me to lose that prior. I started at 217 and am now 196. But I have held 196 for over a week with nothing. Started more Protein to see if that will help. Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 194 GW 140 -
As a courtesy I would communicate the return date to your immediate supervisor! If she has questions, issues or comments then refer her to the HR officer and report any inappropriate comments, as well. It is the only way someone learns if they are not smart enough to read up on the policies and guidelines. Good luck Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 198 GW 140

My surgery was 2/14 and I weighted 212 naked on that day. I am holding at 197!!!! Very frustrating. I tolerate everything but smoothies; puked two and refuse to try again. I have been taking unflavored Greek yogurt 6oz, 3 tbs unsweetened coco, and a Splenda pack. Mix it up and freeze. chocolate Greek frozen yogurt!! Great Protein and delicious. I am hoping I am just at a stall and one Friday I will wake up to a great lower number! Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 198 GW 140 -

I seemed to have stalled for the last few days no change. I am on mushy/puréed foods except meat I can do in tiny pieces chewing a lot or ground meats. Have had no problems, but I did eat too much and it hurts for hours. I am slowing it down these next few days!! Surgery 2/14-217 , CW 198 GW 140 -

My back and drain site on the right is what hurts me as well. I had surgery on 2/14 and the drain was pulled on 2/22 (very painful). I have had 4 other drains on surgery and nothing like this one. The incision is still painful and I get like stinging sensations. -

I am 2 week post and had an open RNY. Recovery has been very difficult, with a lot of pain. U am on full liquids for an additional 2 weeks to include cottage cheese, pudding, yogurt and cream of wheat. No issues on eating and I am moving everyday but cannot seem to walk longer than 30 mins yet, but that is okay. DOS 212 CW 200 with a goal of 135. -

Good morning all, surgery completed at 8pm yesterday. It was an open RNY due to previous surgeries and excessive scar tissue. Incision is 6 inches and pretty painful. Had ice chips all night with no issues, and I am very, very itchy on my back of thighs & lower back. Will update after I begin to walk today???? -
Okay, all checked in and my surgeon is running several hours behind. Looks like I will head to surgery around 5pm. ;(

Lisa, I am so sorry he is doing this to you when you are trying to change your life for the healthier. Their is an underlying reason why he is acting like this, so until he wants to speak honestly with you, I would hold strong and not call him. Do you have other family to support you and assist you? My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Finished preop 2/5 and cleared for surgery. They had to draw blood gases due to my asthma and they are low but not alarming along with my hemoglobin(iron), but I am good to go. Surgery is 2/14 at 11:30 and I have to be there at 0930. I only have to do a all clear, liquid diet for 24 hrs prior and then I am a full liquid diet for 3 weeks after surgery! I have to stay 2 nights, 3 days in hospital. I am traveling for work 2/10-2/13 so my mind will be busy. I am so excited to get this done. HW 230 CW 211 DOS 2/14/13

Cardio evaluation
ArmyWife&Mom replied to celebrate*me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is the stress test I had for high relaxed heart rate. it lasts 5 mins and u will be fine. That is the reason he wants it chemical and not treadmill. Not a major issue and I would try not to stress about it. -
Surgery is 2/14
