Random/Weird question
Nurse Jen replied to aayers88's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had little knots like that. They told me they are like fatty tumors, they happen because of the quick loss of fat. My surgeon said they aren't anything of concern until the weight loss is over and they are still there. Mine have gone away for the most part. Some were pretty large and some smaller. -

I started when I was 21....got frustrated and gave up. Tried every diet under the sun and finally at 28 met an amazing surgeon. Here I am now 29, 7 months post op, 117.8 lbs down and couldn't be happier! Congrats on the surgery date, it will be here before you know it! -

There is a lady in my Facebook group that uses them. She post pics all the time and they seem to work. They help a lot on her. So much so that I am considering them! -
Thank you very much! I still have a ways to go but I'm more hopeful than ever

Yes Protein....Dang phone! I use Premier Protein...30 G protein, 8 g sugar. I buy them at Sam's Club. Turkey Jerky is good too, of course right after surgery you can't have that.
-
Now or then? Now I mostly feel like its snacking really. Eating about every 2-3 hours. Protein first I usually have cheese, chicken, nuts or a progestin bar. About 1/2 cup per meal. Solid Proteins keep your belly full longer so I try to stick to those. I feel like I am always eating but I still don't have hunger so I have to keep a schedule so I don't lose precious time to pack in protein.

Yes it's true....not to mention being that overweight takes its toll on your liver. I has stage 2 scarring on my liver, one more stage and it could have been permanent. It's amazing what weight can do to a body.

Thank you...honestly it goes by faster than you think. You blink and before you know it 6 months are gone.

I too have PCOS that caused me to gain all of my weight. I was 28 5'10" and 364lbs when I had RNY. I now 29 an 7 months post op and have lost 117.8lbs bringing my weight to 246.2 lbs. I would have lost more but I had an accident in February and suffered severe knee trauma, I had surgery last week to repair my knee and hope to continue my journey. I will tell you with my PCOS I never had a normal period. Since surgery I have had a normal period every month and now it starts the exact day it is supposed too!!! This surgery changed my life! You won't be sorry.
-
The first is me at 364lbs second is me at 246.2lbs my legs have went back amazingly as well as my face and tummy. My problem area is my underarms. A lot of people in my group of September 2012 members are using wraps that are working wonders for their skin.
-
I am 29 and has the surgery in September of last year when I was 28....I have lost 117.8lbs and so far my skin is going back to normal. But now is the tough part, building muscle to keep the skin tight and lots of exercise. I still have a little over 80 more lbs to lose. But I can tell you this surgery is worth it. It changed my life and my health.

What to bring to the hospital?
Nurse Jen replied to al70switz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I recommend an iPod if you have one with a soothing playlist to drown out all the noises. The only sleep I got was after a bad night of pain, thy out me back on my IV drip and pain meds via IV and I put my iPod in and got two hours straight of sleep. Bring Chapstick and pillow to have on car ride home as well as comfy clothes to go home in ( elastic pajama pants are great) -
There is a chewable called generess fe

I agree about the gas pain.....it is terrible!!!! It is trapped in your abdomen/cheat from surgery...it took about 5 day for mine to work it way out. I was sore bending and getting out of bed, but it is worth it. Today I am down 92.6lbs and completely happy with my decision. Ever heard the expression...no pain, no gain?? Just think of it like that -
