I'm looking into getting a fitbit and see there are a few to choose from. What are you using and do you like it? I'm looking at the "flex" or "one"' what would you recommend?

Ok, I am just wondering if anyone else has cancer and what they did with their band fill?? I have breast cancer and I start radiation tomorrow. I am also supose to do chemo but I have not decided if I will do it or not, as I don't really want to go through it. My ? is should I take all my fill out, just incase I get sick??? Anyone else going through this prob. I would love to talk to you?:help: Thanks, Shelley
-
Lynn how is your radiation going, have been thinking of you. Danielle, how is your radiation going, I know you just started on the 6th I believe? Hope you are both doing well and taking care of yourselves through this. I'm praying for you both.. Hugs, Shelley
-
Lynn, glad you are doing well. Radiation, will make you super exhausted, you will get bad burns, just make sure you put the ointment they give you on right after your radiation, that seemed to help me out a lot. Keep putting it on as often as you can to help with the burning. I had my ovaries taken out in Dec. 2012, after 5 years of taking tamoxifen, which cased the lining of my wall in uterus to get to thick, thought I might have gotten cancer from it, but thank god tests were negative. Take care, rest lots and keep fighting! Keep me informed of how you are doing please. Hugs, Shelley

Danielle, Congrats on your weight loss. I too was 43 when I was diagnosed with cancer. You can get through this, radiation will make you really exhausted, don't let it stop you from doing what you need to do. I worked everyday through my radiation, 7 weeks of it. I would drive 25 min. To the hospital have my treatment then drive straight to work, work my 8 hours and watch my two kids play their sports, take to practice, or what ever. You can do it just stay strong! I did my chemo treatments after my radiation, didn't miss a day of work, I work at a high school. Don't get me wrong it was hard, but I think work kept me going. I had some really hard days, but am happy to say I never got sick and never threw up. My body ached so much sometimes I thought I was going to die. I gained weight, couldn't taste my food, so kept eating thinking I would eventually taste it. Every time my taste buds started working again I had another treatment then it would be gone again. Here I am 7 1/2 years later and it was all worth it.. Stay strong Danielle, you can do it! If you need any one to talk to I'm here for you. Glad you are keeping your fill, wish I would have. Hugs from your new cancer friend, Shelley

Weight Watchers Online: Support Thread

I'm hoping to get this board going again. I just started coming back to this forum, needing it badly. I have just had my first fill in over 4 years and I am so glad I did. I have lost 7 lbs. in less than a week. I didn't realize how much over eating I was doing. I have been going to WW meetings for about 3 years, did really good for the first 5 months loosing 30 lbs., have been up and down ever since, but not giving up. I had gained about 8lbs since Sept. When I went back to work, lots of stress. In Nov. I started thinking, why did I spend so much money on my band if I am not going to use it? I finally called and set up a fill date for Dec. 19th, told myself I was not going to wait until after the Holidays, needed to get back on program now. So glad I did! I have started journaling (today) again, had only journaled off and on for a long time. I know journaling is a very large part to successful weight loss. Wish me luck everyone! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or Happy Hanukkah everyone, Shelley -
That is so awesome! Have a very Merry Christmas.

Joanne, congratulations on both your weight loss and being cancer free. I am happy to say that I am now 7 years cancer free and feeling well.. I just went in on Dec. 19th and got my first fill in over 3 years. Doing pretty good, got a little hungry today, but dealing with it. I decided I didn't want to wait until next year to start my next years New Years resolution. I have even been exercising the last few days. I refuse to give into my weight loss struggles, just like I refused to give into my cancer. Working hard to win both these battles. I have learned to never give up! Shelley

You are all so right! I know I will be rethinking how I look at food, and eat it. I have started to play the awful head games with myself but after reading everyone's posts on these boards I think I am about to change that. Getting a fill today! carolinagirl, awesome weight loss! -

I'm getting my first fill since I had most taken out over three years ago today. Excited and yet scared. I am struggling way too much and I want to get back on board with my lap band. Glad you are doing so well, keep it up! Wish me luck. I am so glad I found this board again, reading lots of posts here has made me want to get my butt back in gear and start loosing again. I have never given up, just taken several side roads on my weight loss journey. -
After Almost 2 Years, I'm Starting Over
weightshaker replied to ladybanded's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am 9 years out and never have made it to goal. I am happy to say I am going in for a fill tomorrow, it has been about 3 1/2 years since I had most of my fill out due to not being able to swallow my meds. Well it is high time I get back into loosing. I am nervous especially with the holidays here, but know I need this badly, and I refuse to give up no matter how many years it's been. Best wishes to all of you and I look forward to hear how everyone is doing. We can do this! Love this board, now that I am back! -

10 Week Course For Mastering Your Lap Band W/dr. Terry Simpson

B-52, I wish I could say I had the support you seem to have. I was banded in Mexico back before it was readily available in the U.S. I sometimes wish I would have waited a few years and had it done locally but I didn't. Sounds like there are a lot of new things they are doing to help patience with their weight loss. Yellow-green-red chart on wall, sounds interesting, and a 10 week course would be nice. I did find a local Dr. To do my fills, she only does fills and is a Family Practitioner not a surgeon. It has been over three and a half years since I last saw her. I just called today and set up a fill date for Dec. 19th, excited but nervous too. I'm hoping to get to the third phase you mentioned above. Wish me luck!! -

I about died when I saw how much it was! I was just curious. I just started coming back here and I am glad I did. Hoping to get myself together. Thanks all. -
I have and still am struggling. I never have made it to my goal, but even after all these years I am not giving up. I am going to set up an appointment to go and get a fill in the next couple of weeks. I am so out of control with my eating, I just eat all the time, even when I'm not hungry! Does anyone have any suggestions to help me get my butt back in gear, and start loosing again? HELP PLEASE!

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?
weightshaker posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I was just wondering if anyone has had surgery by this Dr. and would be willing to give me information on him and his Clinic. His site says he is Cert. by INAMED, but I am making sure I am doing all my homework before I decide what Dr. to use. I know there are a lot of good ones in Mexico, so I am trying to decide, and any help would be appre:confused: ciated. Thanks, Shelley -
Has anyone in OR. had surgery in Mexico? Did you have trouble finding anyone to do your fills? My insurance won't pay for it and I can't afford to self pay $20,000 + , so am looking into going to Mexico. Would you recomend this, and who did yours? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks, Shelley:)

August 05 Bandsters, Show Yourselves! :)
weightshaker replied to MerryHearted's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded Aug. 17,05. I'm not doing too great. I have lost about 45lbs, but have another 85 to go. I am going in for my 4th fill on Wed.. I wish I had a local support group, the dr. that does my fills is 3 hrs away and I can never make it to any of his support meetings. I am not giving up, I just need to fix my bad eating habits. I am hoping a small fill will keep me from over eating. I don't really get full, and sometimes I can eat a lot. Hope everyone else out there is doing well with the band! -
Thanks Totallytater. I have an appointment scheduled in Hood River for this Wed.. I am just trying to decide if I should switch to USA Fills. I pay $152 for a fill, he just went up from $125. I would really like to find a local support group. Do they offer support groups? Thanks
