Dry Skin after Gastric Bypass
stitchwitch replied to brandnewme's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Lots of water, I use coconut oil in my cooking and on my skin. Make sure you are getting enough essential fatty acids. Stay away from chemical laden moisturizers or petroleum based creams. -

So sorry to hear. Best wishes to feel better in the new year. -
I saw that this morning! I am continuing to be mindful of what makes me feel different in a negative way. For now, I'm glad it's not affecting me.

My last A1c in November was 6.9. I was not checking my blood sugars regularly and relying on my A1C. My diet overall is/was decently healthy. And in general my diabetes was under control. I was not an insulin dependent diabetic. I was taking 1 mg Glimipiride daily, after Breakfast. The last pill I took was Dec 19, the day before my surgery. Although during surgery my blood sugar spiked and they gave me insulin, it came down into the normal range, being under 130, and it has been there since surgery. So, I no longer am taking diabetes medication. My blood sugar has been between 90 and 130, mostly the 110 to 120 range. I feel great! On the other hand, I have a friend who's diabetes was out of control, on two insulins and pills. She is still on two insulins but no longer is taking the pills. She still has some issues, but in general her sugars are between 130 and 150 now. The blurry vision is gone.

Leslie - Dec 20, St Francis Hospital Federal Way Wa -
It's sad to see partners (spouses, wives, husbands, boy/girlfriends) who cannot even show up at the hospital to see how you are doing, to offer their support. My boyfriend has been part of this journey from the first seminar. He took time off from work to take care of me post op. He has been so caring and supportive, and makes sure I don't push myself. He makes sure I am getting all the liquids I need, he has taken care of all the housework and taken care of my cats. I couldn't ask for a better partner to share my life with. I feel so fortunate to have him in my life. I agree with those who charge ahead - take care of yourself first. You want to be there for your kids and your family. You are brave to do it without the support that would make the journey that much more meaningful if your partner were there beside you. God bless you for being brave.

This has been a very entertaining thread to peruse!! I have always loved swallowing semen. I was concerned I would lose that desire and ability after surgery. I'm very happy to discover that I have not lost the taste for or the ability to swallow my boyfriends semen. On the other topic of kissing - after swallowing him, I rinse since he is not into his own juices. But after he has been on me, I love to clean his mouth and beard. And after sex, the cleaning lady arrives to ensure there are no juices left. LOL

6 days post op, feeling myself and very horny. LOL we are just doing it safely as in no positions that will strain my abdomen. But enjoying every minute! And... bonus... I have not lost my taste for or ability to swallow. hehe
