I love olives and pickles too! I have no idea if I can eat them. I am just over a week out of surgery.

I am finally home from the hospital. I had starvation ketoacidosis. I had my first purred dinner at home. Smashed banana and cottage cheese. I need potassium in me. And sugar and carbs. Lol.

I bought that tag and then bought the leather bracelet from somewhere else. Had to find the place that allowed the most letters. I made the rest of my bracelets. You see all those really pretty beaded ones that cost too much. I love making beaded jewelry so I made my own med ID bracelets.

What Was Your Biggest Misconception About Surgery?
Stephanie replied to hajones5891's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That it is important to get some sugar into you or you will end up with issues that may land you back into the hospital like me! -
I am still in the hospital getting a bunch of crap put into to me. Turned out that I was out of carbs and sugars and my body wasn't working right because of that and I was like in a mode of starvation pretty much. My doctor did say that I am able to start phase 2 of my diet which includes pureed foods! I am so happy! I just gotta take it slow!

Still In The Hospital... But..
Stephanie replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i came in because I was short of breath. They discharged me later saying it is just my lungs not opening all the way and to use the breathing thing they gave me the day of my surgery ever 5-10 mins. I went home at 7p. I got a call around 9:30p that night saying that my electrolytes we messed up and to come in and stay over night. I had my surgery Nov. 2nd. They said this isn't normal at this stage for me. Not sure why it happened to me. -
Is it normal to have shortness of breath a week after surgery?

Well I am getting some sugar water in my iv. They were saying something about the acids in my body are there cause I have no sugar or carbs to help it. Something like that and something with starvation. I am eating. Who knows. -
Shortness Of Breath?
Stephanie replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still here and they are still not sure what it is. I asked the doctor who just talked to me to write it down for me. I feel good. I am pretty sure she said my acid levels are high. And they don't know why. I will get you guys better info soon! -
Shortness Of Breath?
Stephanie replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I am still here. They are saying something about my bodies acids or something is out of whack. Not really sure. I have a tumor on my pituitary gland and they think it may have something to do with that and want to talk to a neurologist and or endocrinologist. I take meds for it to shrink it. Said I might go home tomorrow. This is bull crap but for the best! -

Stephanie replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah when I first got it they said to use it before meals and before bed. I just take deep breaths and try to reach a number. Now they want me to do this thing every 5-10 mins. -
Shortness Of Breath?
Stephanie replied to Stephanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I got back from the hospital it was just because my lungs were not opening fully. Gotta use this breathing thing to work on it. Now I just got another call saying they want me to come down over night because my electrolytes are low. -

Stephanie replied to xX_iSLAY_All_Day_Xx's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance told be that as long as my bmi is above 40 at the time my first weigh in was and that I have documented history that it was over the last two years that was good. I asked about when I started my 6 month diet and if it went below 40. They said that was okay because they want you to try to continue to lose weight and if you didn't lose weight or gained it mainly that there could be a problem and you may not be as committed to this. They want to see you lose weight and succeeded. Because you will have to do this after the surgery. -
I had my surgery on Friday. My question is how much water should I being drinking each hour. I am worrying that I am not getting all my water in but I do not want to drink too much water and a time and hurt myself.
-
I had my surgery on nov 2nd. I agree that it is hard. I am also trying to keep up on my water. I like both plain water and favored water. I am just afraid that I am taking too much water at once and I do not want to get sick. I have been trying to walk around as much as I can and getting on my treadmill and walking at the slowest speed for 5 mins or so an hour. I still take my pain meds because of my pain in my belly. I take it at night and in the morning. In the morning I have pains in my back from sleeping on my back and my belly. But the pain meds do put me to sleep and does not help with energy throughout the day. I do my best with everything. This isn't the easy way out and we are working our butts off!
