    Question

It's just dehydration. My ears look great. My doctor laughed when I told her the ER doctor didn't even check my ears. I have been dehydrated many times since surgery but this is the worse ever. Lesson learned. Just glad that's all it is. That scared me. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 215 06/10/13 GW: 167

    Question

I told them I think it was dehydration but they looked at me like I was crazy. Considering this is the same hospital that did my surgery....I know why they have a certain building for the wls doctors and why they have certain nurses. After the bag of fluids I felt so much better and came out of the daze I was in. But the nausea and dizziness I still have. I will let ya know what I find out. 1 year since my life change

    You look awesome!!! Congrats!!! HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157
  7. One thing I hope you realize is the more weight someone has to lose, it tends to come off faster then someone who doesn't have a lot. Meaning I was at 319 when I started..I will lose faster then someone who was at 243 and had surgery on the same day. Doesn't mean you are doing something wrong that's just how it is. It's hard but comparing yourself to others is the worse thing you can do. Enjoy the weight you've lost and focus on where you want to be. It helps a lot of you don't stress so much about it. Stress slows down or stalls us. Keep your head high and just calm down. It will happen. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    Chicken?

I've been pressure cooking a lot of my meats. Roast, chicken, and pork being the main ones. It's really helped me a lot cause I absolutely refuse to eat meat that is dry. It's an electric pressure cooker and I love it. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    Mentally smaller

I've lost 100 pounds and am 6 months out and I still see the old me in the mirror. I've had my husband and my family show me before and now pics and that's the only way I believe this. I see the scale numbers and sometimes think its a POS and telling me the wrong weight. I'm getting better but I've been told it can take some people awhile to adjust to all the changes. My best advice is to take a lot of pics and compare them to your before surgery ones. That's the only way I've found to help me. Plus I'm starting to like having pics taken of me. is that weird

I find it weird how we crave certain things after surgery. Mine was anything mint and BBQ sauce. 2 things I really didn't care for before surgery. I've gotten over the mint but I still use BBQ sauce. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    Aunt Flo, you wench!

Mine was exactly like that too. For me, I can say they've gotten better. The first 4 months I wanted to die when it started. Now the bleeding is normal, clots are way smaller but the cramps and the pain in my breasts are still there just not as bad. Plus I don't want to rip off my husbands head and roll it down the street for no reason too. Lol. I also have PCOS. They said the main reason for the really heavy bleeding and huge clots is its cleaning ya out for not having normal monthly periods. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

afraid not going to lose enough

My doctor told me right away that once my weight gets under 190-200 pounds, the weight will come off slower. That I will just need to make sure to keep doing exactly what I've been told to do and it will come off just not as fast as it did before. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

When can u docrunches /ab work?

I was told I'm clear to do whatever I wanted after 6 weeks. Unless I had complication which I didn't. Start off slow and work your way up. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    So I have this friend...

I pray that you and your friend can make it through this. It will be hard too. I've lost contact with a few friends and close family members too. The main issue was jealousy but other stuff came up too. I wasn't letting people run all over me and treat me like dirt that they walk on. I stick up for myself and have more self confidence. It's a great thing for us but others will see it different. I'm dealing with the fact that I've lost 2 of my best friend and my close relationship with my sister is now over. I haven't talked to my sister in 2 months now and I don't even know why. It's been hard yet to look at it at a different view, it's been good too. I don't get stressed out anymore cause my sister always stressed me out over bs. I'm happier and I'm enjoying the new me and my new life with my husband. Like someone said earlier, sit down and have a heart to heart talk. Also, try and start some new activities that the two of you can start doing now. That way she may not feel so overwhelmed once you have the surgery. Good luck and hope all works out!! If not, I promise it will get better. Keep your head up and know you are doing this to better yourself. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    6 Months Post Op

My biggest tip is being patient. Lol. The more I stressed about my stalls...the longer they would last. In my opinion. As for everything else...I workout 1-2 hours a day 6 days a week. 2oz Protein and 1/4 veggies is what I eat at my meals. I set realistic goals and work my butt to meet them. The goal of losing 100 pounds in 6 months wasn't one of my realistic ones but it was something that would keep me focused on doing what I'm suppose to do. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157
  17. Yesterday was my 6 months since surgery. I woke up to a huge mess but was excited when I saw I hit 100 pounds gone on my 6th month!!! Just had to share with people who understands and doesn't think I'm rubbing it in. The before pics were taken a couple weeks before surgery and one after pic was taken by my mom without me noticing. Lol. The other was just taken today. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    why don't I feel full?

I'm never hungry at 6 months out. I have to remind myself to eat. I have head hunger but I ignore that. I do feel full real quick while eating. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 219 05/26/13 GW: 157

    What to pack for hospital?

Only things I took was my cell phone and charger, iPad and charger, Chapstick, socks, underwear, sweatpants and pads/tampons just incase and my pillow. I wore comfy loose fitting clothes to the hospital and wore them home. Didn't even use my iPad. I was either sleeping or walking. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
  21. Yes , it's very much worth it. I only lost a few pounds before my surgery but I was getting used to my diet and exercise when I started the process. It will help so much being in the mid set of exercising, drinking Water all the time, not drinking before, while and after you eat for the time said, and everything else we need to get our minds set to. As for you being stalled for a little bit with losing 20 pounds....it's a first of MANY stalls. Be patient and they will come off. Your body is adjusting to everything. But 20 pounds is 20 pounds!!! Congrats!! HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Pre-oper afraid of drains!

My drain didn't bother me unless I was up walking but it wasn't pain just an annoying feeling. When they pull it out....the strangest damn feeling ever. It feels like its unwrapping your insides. I was told to just keep breathing and it was over in 10 seconds. Didn't hurt just weird. One feeling I may never forget. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

    Not feeling full....

I had to google what the ounces were per cup for food. I get curious about a lot of stuff so i look it up. I don't know the numbers right off the top of my head. Weigh foods and measure liquids. I usually do 2oz of protein and 1/4 cup of veggies and that's usually my meal. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157

1st sign of good weight loss

My major weight loss was the first 2 weeks post op. had my surgery on a Monday. Left Wednesday and came home weighed myself. Exactly the weight I went in with. The following Tuesday I went to the doctor to get staples out and I had lost 23 pounds. I lost another 20 that following week. Spent a little over a month on a stall afterwards now I'm losing about 10-20 pounds a month since. HW: 331 SW: 11/26/12 319lbs CW: 225 05/03/13 GW: 157
