So Hard To Date
sexycanadian replied to sexycanadian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to be upfront right away since I know right away when I tell them how they re-act and my that I make my decision if I see them again. But so far all the men I have told have not been supportive. I'm sure I will find a decent guy in Ottawa one day -
Not sure if anyone have the same problem that I have but I find its hard to go on a date. A lot of the guys that I have gone out with don't understand how little I could eat and they are offended by it, It could also just be the type of men we have here in Ottawa, Canada :-(

The Break Up
sexycanadian replied to TryingtobeSuperwoman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have lost my boyfriend before surgery and also sadly a few family members that didn't support my surgery . I took it very bad at first BUT I do have another circle of friends that are great supporters and have help me get true this. All I could say is don't worry about the friends that you lost if they where real friends they would have been there for you. If they don't support you that mean that they don't deserve your friendship. -
Make sure he understand, show him little extra attention., I lost my boyfriend of 8 years just before I had surgery. Not only he was scared but very unsecured of himself and imagine me all skinny and running off with another men right after I had surgery so he decided to leave me For sure it was hard on me and I went true a hard time before the surgery and I really thought he was the man of my life but he didn't trust me and I'm not sure why since I never went out without him I'm not a bar person at all. He left me and now I'm single and looking for a new man and i never felt better and healthier. If you think he is the one for you and your happy with him you will find a way to get true to him and if he loves you for who you are he will be there for you. For sure not easy situation but I'm sure it will all work out I'm trying to date now and I just wish I could meet a guy that had the surgery at least we would both understand each other better

My boyfriend left me before I had the surgery. He is a overweight man and was on the program to have the surgery and decided to drop out. I had the surgery and feel great, I felt bad at first since he left me but decided my life was more important. You will have to make sure he understand that you are with him and him only, show him that you are there for him. For now instead of going out with your friends go out with him, you have to start to built your relationship all over again Unfortunately this is one thing part of this surgery that is hard to deal with but keep your head up and you will get true this I have lost many friends and work friends due to this surgery but I keep thinking that if they where really my friends they would have stand by me Good luck

Well. I'm kinda happy right now things are progressing well and the weight is coming off. Getting the protein in and the fluid in now if I could just get around a schedule and try to get out there and find myself a man. I think it will be hard to be in a relationship due to the different life style but I hope I will be able to
