Forget food funeral! I had a clothes funeral :)
Kami63 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having surgery Tuesday and was packing. I looked at my closet today and saw all of the clothes that are already falling off me bc of my weightloss thus far. I have lost 45 pounds over the last year or so. My coworkers were telling me Friday that I need new clothes (great feeling) Anyway, I gathered up all of my expensive now oversized work clothes to give to my sister. She is bigger but on her way down hopefully as well I couldn't believe how many clothes I could get rid of! Of course I am going to milk the ones that are just a little big so I get my money out of them lol. Any others have a clothes funeral? It s really liberating!!! -
Sorry, never mind about the surgeon part, I had already forgotten you were waiting on approval. I'm a wack job at the moment with surgery Tuesday. I hope you get approved!

Sending the good jue jue your way as requested! I chose the band ....6 years later I choose the sleeve .... Oh and if it freaks you out to see the band now, it probably won't get better if you have it put in. I could tell you my whole story but it is long but I am having that darn foreign object taken out Tuesday and revising to he sleeve. I am relieved. But please do your research and if you don't have a surgeon yet, try to find one that does multiple surgeries. The surgeon can help you decide based on your needs. My first surgeon was band only so he couldn't have recommended another surgery. Best thing I did for myself was find my new surgeon!

Yeah dress for success would be good. If I didn't have my sister to give them to, I might take them to a WLS clothes swap. At first I was thinking that there would be no one bigger than me at one of thos then I realized hello! There are people starting from all sizes. I think it is a self esteem thing. Still hard to believe. Started at a tight 28... -
I will! I added you as a friend. What was your weight the day of your surgery? I think we are even closer in weight than we thought lol and I am only 1 inch taller if that so we are almost identical starting points. Get some rest and of course walk and hydrate.

Congrats you are now on the loser's bench haha! I am glad to hear you are doing well, and i think the gas gets everyone...I will be there with you on Tuesday!

I am not post op for vsg yet but the same thing happened to me when I first got my lapband. I was so disgusted by the amts of food people were able to eat. It got better over time. I am sure it will be the same again for me postop but this time I am prepared! -
Sweet! Congratulations on your success!

June 25th Sleevers? I need a buddy...
Kami63 replied to pinkeeez83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get my time to report to the hospital Monday too. I am already having weird dreams about work and surgery. Tomorrow will be my last day at work for two weeks and we are already behind so it is kind of stressful. I told my coworker bough that after Monday I CANNOT be thinking about work. I need to be thinking of my recovery. How long is everyone else taking off? -
I am being revised to sleeve Tuesday! I am scared that it will fail just like the band, but I see a lot of ex banders felt that way and are doing fine. This IS the right decision for me and I have to trust that it will work and that i will be able to use it as a tool. Thanks for the info on no feeling your sleeve in the beginning. I probably would have freaked out...

Woohoo! You look amazing! How tall are you? -
Good luck. Hopefully you'll be approved in no time

Sorry, that is frustrating! Try to remain calm. ( Easier said than done, i know this very well) You can get the letter and then resubmit. I would have the insurance detail to you what they need so you can get the right letter. Good luck and hang in there.

Fantastic isn't it?! Congrats!

Please Help Me Decide ...
Kami63 replied to Andrew0929's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't regret getting my band bc I would certainly have climbed to over 400 lbs without it, but I am revising to a sleeve on 6/25 due to complications with my band. I too did not have the sleeve options when I was banded 6 years ago. On lapbandtalk.com you will find many wonderful success stories and many horrible complications as with any surgery. Do your research and find what fits you best. I personally am ok with having 85% of my stomach cut out after having the horrible complications I had. But I am still not ok with the bypass. Good luck!
