Icy, Thank you so much. I do need to slow down when I eat. Nurses are conditioned to eat and run - Today will be better - I have packed my bag for work - yogurt, and egg, string cheese and my protien shake. I will stay at my desk and not go to the cafeteria (tempation). But, I find all I think about is food! I love this site - everyone is so positive! I know I can do it! Thanks team!

Good Luck Jainie! It will be worth it!

Good Luck Tinkerbell - You will be so pleased when you get home. Enjoy the naps - the best part...

Lynette - you are great - I am glad you caught a fish. We go out and just sit there... I am 9 days post op and started back to work. But, I am still plagued with "burps". I sure hope they go away.

SD - you and I must be the minority - I am proud that I took a stance in my life to correct a problem I could not control. I was not going to tell my kids until after it was done - but the surgery center called and told my daughter the time, date, place and how much money I should bring...I thought so much for privacy....

Congratulations Dieka! Doesn't feel wonderful to have it overwith and we can now start our new life! I am ready to go. I have to remember to go slow - 2 weeks of fluids is only 2 weeks of fluids.

Hi Jeanne, Yes, everything I have purchased has been sugar free or made with splenda. I hate to increase the Riomet to 10 cc's until my stomach settles down. How are you feeling? I am still getting tierd really easily - but, I am due to start work on Monday. What will I do without my naps???? Before the band I was on Avandamet 80/1000 twice a day and Junivia once a day - I tried Byetta - but, since you have to keep it cool I never had it around when I was going to eat - My main incision - I guess the one where the port is - is still pretty sore. I haven't had any issues with any of the other punctures. I still look swollen. The doctor stitched up my hiatal hernia while he was in there also. Are you hungry? I feel like I could eat anything....

Hi guys! July 07 Banders have some great posts. I had my band on 7/9 and I have just joined the site. So I'm not sure about how to post or where...I just turned 50 and felt that something had to be done. Is anyone working with Diabetis? My main goal was to decrease my blood sugars and keep the weight off. But, my sugars are still running over 150 - any ideas? The doctor put me on a new medicine Riomet since it is a liquid. Thanks ladies for all of your information. I did not know about the diarrhea - wondered if it was caused by the new Riomet or the surgery. I am down 8 pounds from surgery date! Peaches mentioned something about the "gas passer" at time of surgery - I kept thinking I had seen her somewhere before - I had helped her with her hospital bills 6 months or so ago...I sure am glad everything turned out OK...

Yes, I did get banded on 7/9 and feeling great (tender at the port site) - but, I can get in and out of the chair and bed now. I am just sooooo hungry. Full liquids are OK - but, I did not think my stomach would growl so soon.
-
Good luck - my doctor sent me home with in 6 hours and I did great. Be sure to take the pain pills....

I was banded yesterday, July 9th. I feel pretty good except for the burps...even took a shower this morning. Thank you all for all your tips and advice - All I could think about was how helpful those toilet tongs would have been last night!
