Wow! It's been a long time since I've been able to check in - finally got my internet re-wired after the ice storm...so impressed with everyones successes! The pictures are great! I'm off to make something for supper, then a walk on the treadmill. My hubby got me a i-pod touch for Christmas, so I've been watching movies and listening to an audio book while I walk - makes it a little more exciting. Hope everyone is doing great! Keep up the good work. Kim

Hey Body Buggers - just wanting to know how your buggs are working out for you - hadn't heard much lately and was curious. I've thought about getting one, but REALLY want to make sure it's a good investment. Thanks for your input! Kim

I absolutely LOVE tamales! When I lived in New Mexico the housekeeper of my boss would make them for Christmas for us...yum!!! Hard to find a good tamale in Kansas sometimes, but we do have several ladies who will make them if ordered. I just need to learn how, or maybe not - they could be too tempting. I usually get my chile fix from my garden, but didn't get one planted this past year - am already planning one for this spring - just HAVE to have my green chile, jalapeno, and ancho chiles...
-
Well...I had my fill on the 21st - only lost 3 pounds :faint: this past month - guess those Christmas goodies added up more than I thought they would - just thankful I didn't gain. Good motivation to get back on track for January I suppose. I'm determined to become more regular in my exercise routine - I think that hurt my loss as well. I'm used to going outside for recess with my kiddos and moving around, but it's been too icy and snowy and cold! Hope you all have a great Christmas - enjoy! Kim
-
Kathy, I am sorry to hear about your dad! I'm sure it is terribly difficult to see him hurting - kind of like your kids - you want to do everything you can to take the hurt away. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Kim

O.K. Here's my third attempt to post this - hopefully all of the other ones don't show up - I apologize in advance if I really mess up.....the before is of me walking in Washington DC at the end of June, about 2 weeks prior to surgery...hot, tired, and miserable. The after is right before heading over to mom's for Thanksgiving (just had a fill so only ate/drank chicken broth).
-
That's the same day I get my fill! I also had one the day before Thanksgiving - kinda forces me to back off the buffet table! Of course the broth on Thanksgiving kinda made me a little cranky - mushies would have been better...Oh well - happy with the losses so far! Hope you have a Merry Christmas!

I could go for that lift and shrink as well - I've always been about a C, was up to probably a DD at my heaviest - I'm a pretty low maintenance kinda gal, so don't want to have to mess around with finding a bra that's comfy and will keep the "girls" perky. I think my hubby loves them big or small, as long as I'm happy (at least that's what he's said). As to the cold...I've always been cold in the winter...socks, warm jammies, and an electric blanket...and the heat up to 72 as well! I think I need to move further South! Kim

Glad to hear you are getting your Body Bugg! I think I remember seeing your signature from way back when on this board about wanting one - it was the first I'd heard of it. Let me know how it works out - I'm still contemplating! Congrats on the weight loss and working out! Kim

I had the same problem with NO restriction after my 3rd fill (2.5cc in 4cc band). I didn't have anything getting stuck - didn't have to overchew - no PB'ing (had in the past) - the PA doing the fill didn't seem too concerned, she reminded me that I wasn't fully restricted. After this fill (3cc total) I do feel full a little faster and definately longer - however still no problems with things "sticking"...let me know what you find out! :rolleyes

OMG! That looks like so much fun! My DH and I are taking a cruise in July - those deserts look killer! Thanks for sharing!

No shopping for me! Except for a latte at Starbucks on the way to visit my Dad in the hospital. Our closest Starbucks is an hour away, so I value those brief excursions into civilization. I live in a very small town so at least those fast-food temptations, or Outback, Red Lobster, etc. are far away. We only have 3 restaurants in our town right now - usually more of a pain to go than to cook at home.

I think the Thanksgiving tips were awesome - I'm kind of glad I'll be on clear liquids today to take away all temptation - but it's great to know that you can partake in the social food event and still be healthy (and probably feel better than an overstuffed "turkey" like I normally do). I'm hoping it warms up enough here so that we can all take a walk after dinner - little chilly now (34). Congrats on your 50 pounds - you now have less to lose than you've already lost! Dini - you have done an awesome job this far! You are so close to your goal - I think that the loss will slow down for many nearing the home stretch. Don't be so hard on yourself! My hubby and I shared our 9th anniversary yesterday with my trip to the fill appt. - then water afterwards - I finally talked him into eating some drive-through Mexican - he is SOOO supportive, but also SOOOO skinny, so he really needs to eat! Best wishes for a meaningful holiday today! Kim

Whoo Hoo! Just got back from the trek to the fill office - I was VERY happy (and surprised) to see that I had lost 13.6 pounds! Yippppeeeee! Brings the total to 57 pounds - was hoping for 50 so was very pleasantly surprised. Better sign me up for the Christmas Challenge - hope the new fill restricts things a little better! Kim :clap2:
-
I should know my loss (hopefully) tomorrow at the Dr.'s office - my scales are a little to messed up to trust...have been quite hungry lately and quite stressed = too much to eat. Need to work at exercising the stress away. I'll send you results tomorrow for the Thanksgiving Challenge! Kim
-
I scheduled my 4th fill for the day before Thanksgiving - just clear liquids for me I suppose - didn't even do it intentionally, but decided it was a good thing.
-
I tried one of the steaming "ziplock" bags tonight - cut up some fresh organic broccoli, tossed it in the bag with a little of my favorite garlic seasoning, zapped it for 4 minutes and it was WONDERFUL! I'm going to try some asaragus tomorrow - nice not to have any cleanup afterwards as well. My Dr. told me I need to get more veggies in so I'm working towards that goal.

How much do you have in your band now? I have 2.5cc in a 4cc band and still don't feel enough restriction. I do feel full longer, but still feel like I'm eating too much. I'm just a bad judge of quantity sizes. I locked my Halloween candy in our storage barn in the yard - will get it out tomorrow to take to my kiddos at school - I actually bought pretty healthy things as far as it goes - Animal Crackers, Fruit Roll-Ups, etc. Linda - had my 2nd fill on the 24th - I am tight - I think it may even be at my sweet spot... Had a retirement party Saturday nite - ate 2 or 3 bites of salads - 4 bites of steak (it was really good wanted to eat more ) 1/2 piece of cake - and about 6 glass of white wine - guess who was a little hung over on Sunday - Now this is where the band is a tad hard - you know how you are hung over - want lots of water fast and grease food and tons of it - well, can't drink water fast anymore - ate a cup of soupy mash potatoes and 3 reese pb cups.. (Ya i hit the halloween candy :omg:) But in the past I would have eaten the whole bag so don't feel bad about it... Last nite had 3 oz of fish 1/4 cup brown rice and 1/3 cup cabbage - couldn't finish the rice - then my midnight run - 1 sf pudding cup and ate too fast got a little stuck - so sweet spot is here i think... Well gang just wanted to say hi since i haven't been here for a few days.. Love to you all.... Talk to you later xoxox Janet

I'd like to be on the list too! 291/281 - I just wish my scale would match up a little closer to the Dr. scale - I weighed 273 the morning before my appointment, and the scale at the Dr. said 291 - was very disappointed with my loss - a little over 6 pounds, but not as good as I'd thought. Usually the scale is only off by 6 pounds compared to the one at home. Argh. I'm starting to worry about my next fill appointment, I scheduled it for the day before Thanksgiving - and will be on liquids for the big turkey day - wonder if gravy counts. Kim
-
Wow IndioGirl - new picture has you looking pretty darn good! I haven't been on for a while - so just noticed the picture - congrats! Kim
-
I feel the same way after my 2nd fill - can eat and drink more than I should, but do feel fuller, longer. I guess that's progress since after the 1st fill I could eat anything in sight and was still hungry. I'm staying of the diet soda as well...my headaches have improved immensely - don't want to ruin a good thing?! Would like a beer every once in a while though - especially in summer and fall.
-
I finally tried one of Kashi's chewy Cookies - VERY GOOD - oatmeal dark chocolate chip - yum! They have 130 Calories, 3 g of Fiber and 2 g of Protein and are VERY filling with lots of whole grains. I tried a Cereal years ago and thought it was terrible, so was reluctant to try, but very pleased. We're off to Kansas City & NASCAR races (hubby), shopping for me. Hope you all have an awesome weekend!
-
Phyll - just noticed on your ticker that you and are I just about in the same boat - I've lost 38.4 pounds and have 130+ to go - nice to see someone else at the same place I am - I was thrilled to finally enter the land of twosies today at my fill appointment. Onederland is a ways away...but each day is a step closer. It sounds like you're having an awesome time on your trip! Much more fun than work, etc. Hope the slots are good to you. :bounce:

Have you tried the Cherry Adult Tylenol? I don't think it's too bad at all and you don't have to drink as much as the kids version -
-
I have only had one fill, but am experiencing the same thing regarding HUNGER and the snack attacks at night - I don't really feel any restriction - in fact, it feels less restricted than before the fill? I can pretty much eat anything, except for doughy bread, and I know it's much more than I should. I can't wait for my next fill to hopefully slow down the momentum some! I did get up and walk again this a.m. My daughter didn't want to go so I was tempted to back out, but I REALLY want to get in 3 days this week. Have an AWESOME day! Kim
