Have band also. Didn't have major complications(slips, erosion, etc). Just fill, unfill, not right spot. food getting stuck, nausea and vomiting. Traveling long distance for the adjustment. Lost only 40 lbs. Gained all of it back and then some. Revising to RNY on 10/24. -

droppingitlikeitshot75 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Received my protein diet kit today from my surgeon's office. Have to eat or drink 4 of these shakes, soups or bars a day for 14 days. Also can have one meal consisting of 4oz of lean meat and unlimited amount of green nonstarchy veggies, unlimited amount of sf jello or sf koolaid, crystal light etc. This is coming faster than I thought. -
Citrical? Help!
droppingitlikeitshot75 replied to Jen in SoCal's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I searched the internet and in my education binder from the office, they can be crushed. I even read several placed where they can be crushed and mixed in water, still be effective. i plan on crushing them in a little unsweetened applesauce. I bought a big bottle from Sam's for about $7 400ct. I also do Centrum Chewables for multivitamin. They also make a liquid but I don't know how it taste. -
Not A Single Pound Lost

You might be losing in other places such as inches! Did you do measurements on arms, waist, hips, thighs etc before. Check those every so often. Those are some non-scale victories especially if clothes are getting loser as someone previously stated. -

Revision From Band To Rny And Why.
droppingitlikeitshot75 replied to Vicki Loichinger's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Had band since 11/08. Fluid in, fluid out, little loss. Had 2 ugi with little dialation 3 years ago. Decided to get it out this year. Saw a different physician due to insurance. Had another ugi. Didn't see anything wrong but lower abdominal erosions due to H. pylori. Scheduled for lap removal of band and revision to rny 10/22. Start preop diet monday. Preop testing 10/17. I was a cash pay also. So I started a seeing my pcp every month for 6 months and joined WW. I knew the insurance would want me to do that. So I was proactive. I got approved on the first try. I don't see why they wouldn't approve you. -

If do a good search some companies will do samples for free with s&h or you have to buy sample packs. There was a website Vitalady.com I believe thats where I got all my Synthrax Nectar Samples. Sample vitamins and supplements -
Nectar Proteins are my favorite to mix with water. The flavors I like most are Crystal Sky(taste like fruit pucnh), Apple Ectasy (taste like sour apple, can't find this flavor at Vitamin Shoppe; have to order online from Bariatric Choice or other vendor) also like Roadside Lemonade. They have other flavors too. My rtd proteins i like are Myoplex Carb contraol AdvantEdge (27gm/110 cal) and Premier chocolate and vanilla 30gm/ 160cal). I buy these buy the case at Sam's.

Bought: Two cases of Premeir Protein Chocolate and Vanilla 30gm Protein( 12 for $18) from Sam's. I've drinking these for breakfast on the way to work. They haven't had my other brand Carb AdvanEdge 27gm proterin the last 2 times I've been. You get 24 for $27. huge bottle of Calcium Citrate. I plan on crushing these and adding to a little unsweetened applesauce or water. Using Centrum Chewable twice a day for my multivitamin. sf jello, pudding, popsicles and broths. Children's Tylenol Meltaways Oatmeal and Cream of Wheat Plan to buy: Unjury unflavored protein to mix with my food for added protein. Nectar Protein (Crystal Sky and Apple Ectasy) my favorite protein powder to mix. Crystal Sky tast like tropical punch and apple ectasy like sour apple. I can mix these quickly in water on the go in my blender bottle. Nectar can be found at the Vitamin Shoppe but not the Apple Ectasy flavor. I don't care for mixing regular protein powder unless I'm blending it with something in a blender. Foods for the pureed stage Thinking of ideas -

October Surgery Dates
droppingitlikeitshot75 replied to Immagetitdown12's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes! My date is the 22nd! I've been reading blogs and forums. I also been going over and over and over my education/diet manual. Which I'm about to do now. Trying to get my postop diet menu down, ideas for the different stages. Starting to stock pantry and fridge with different items. Making sure I get some form of exercise in with my busy work/school schedule, so it wouldn't be a shock to my body afterwards. Trying not to get nervous. -
Got My Surgery Date!

Congrats!!!! That's my birthday!!! Which I'll be one week post-op! -
Any nurses that work busy 12 hour shifts? How do you get all your water in especially when we can't chug-a-lug? What about lunch breaks, how do you do on those? Are you able to eat at a decent pace without getting into trouble? How do you schedule your vitamins/supplements?

Hi! New to the site! I have been overweight my entire life. I started losing my weight journey in 2001 when my gyn doc put me on Adipex. I took those for about a month or two. Then my primary doc told me to stop taking them because of blood pressure. So I joined this program, LA Weight. Loss about 80lbs. with them spent years spending money with them and said I'll never have WLS! Tried over programs as I moved to and from different states( Quick Weight Loss, WW 3 times, Atkins and South Beach). In 2005, started taking Phentermine again through online Pharmacies along with doing LAWL again. Did that for about a year. Finally stopped and gained all the weight back. So in '06, I decided I need to have GB surgery but how was I going to pay for it. So, in '07 I started going to seminars. Started hearing about LAP BAND and all it's stories and cost. Met people who had it done and heard all there wl stories. So, in '08 had a REALIZE BAND placed at a start weight of 310 lbs. loss only 40lbs. I exercised and did my proteins, everything just couldn't pass 40lbs. Never really controlled hunger. Just made it to where food would get stuck and then I would start having problems. Had several fills and unfills. Over the course of 4 years I started thinking well maybe I could start taking pills again. My doc even put me on a low dose Phentermine for 3 weeks, a tease! I thought we were on to something! His rationale was to jump start my metabolism! Ha! In May of '11 found a job with WLS coverage. I new that my precert would have to start one year from the time of my initial coverage (July) with 6 month (Jan '12-July '12)wl supervision. I had it down to a science. Started seeing my PCP in Jan and joined WW again for the 3rd time. July rolled around I scheduled appt with surgeon. Had a scope done didn't find anything wrong with band, just some gastric irritation below due to H. Pylori bacteria. Put me on a 2 week PrevPac. The bariatric coordinator sent paper work to BCBSof AL. They wanted to see proof of where I paid for band. Took about 2- 3 weeks for approval. Schedule for band removal and RNY on 10/22! Wt now 312lbs!

L & D RN!!! I'm burned out too! Ready for change. I originally wanted to be a nurse midwife also, but that was too much like right. I'm in school right now for nursing informatics. Working and going to school not fun! Tired of 12 hour shifts but I don't know if I want to work everyday either.
