My family loves homemade pizza!! But the carbs are of course not good for us fellow bypassers, so I tried the cauliflower pizza crust. I must say it was amazing!!! It's filling, flavorful, low carb and low calorie!! It was a winner!!! I put a little sauce, some low sodium ham, beef, onions, bell peppers, and low fat cheese! I didn't even miss the crust!! As a matter of fact, we went to a local pizza place tonight for a party and I ate 1 very small piece of cheese pizza thin crust...I have felt yucky ever since!! This cauliflower crust will be my new go too!! My kids and dad were just pulling it apart eating the crust with no topping!! If you haven't tried it and you miss pizza, please do! You won't be disappointed!! I just googled "cauliflower pizza crust" and tweaked it a bit to our taste likings. I've gotten off track a bit and gained 10 lbs because of it. So I have put my foot down and am working to make whatever substitutions I can! This was a delicious sub to the fatty, high carb pizza I used to be addicted too!! Just wanted to share and be an encouragement and say that we CAN all do this and if we mess up, make a mistake, or slip back into those old habits...tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start!! Good luck to everyone!! Cauliflower pizza crust...so yummy it went fast!! ????

Cauliflower pizza Crust Ingredients--- 1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 1 egg, beaten 1 teaspoon dried oregano ½ teaspoon crushed garlic ½ teaspoon garlic salt olive oil (optional) pizza sauce, shredded cheese and choice of your toppings* Instructions--- To "rice" the Cauliflower: Take 1 large head of fresh cauliflower, remove stems and leaves, and chop the florets into chunks. Add to food processor and pulse until it looks like grain. Do not over-do pulse or you will puree it. (If you don't have a food processor, you can grate the whole head with a cheese grater). Place the riced cauliflower into a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 5 minutes. There is no need to add Water, as the natural moisture in the cauliflower is enough to cook itself. When cooled squeeze out water. One large head should produce approximately 3 cups of riced cauliflower. The remainder can be used to make additional pizza crusts immediately, or can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week. To Make the Pizza Crust: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 cup cauliflower, egg and mozzarella. Add oregano, crushed garlic and garlic salt, stir. Transfer to the cookie sheet, and using your hands, pat out into a 9" round. Optional: Brush olive oil over top of mixture to help with browning. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes. Remove from oven. To the crust, add sauce, toppings and cheese. Place back on oven til cheese is melted and enjoy!! ****you will need to make sure your toppings are pre cooked!!

I'm almost 2 years post op, but I remember the cravings those first few months too. So when I graduated to solid foods I thought I want to try a happy meal because I was craving it soooooo bad. Lesson learned about 15 minutes after I tried to eat 1/2 of the burger and a few fries. I puked everywhere and more than once!! I hurt in my chest, my belly, I broke out into a sweat, my head was spinning and I realized then that there's no food out there worth making me feel that way. Dumping syndrome is no joke and I felt so sluggish after ingesting all that fat. To this day I cannot digest much fast food at all or hamburgers period and I'm ok with that. I don't need those things and my body has sure let me know it too. However, I love Mexican food. So we go out and eat there and I know what I can and cannot tolerate. I order reasonable and eat til I'm satisfied and I even enjoy a piece of pizza When I crave it. So there are still restaurant foods I can enjoy. I just know my limit and what I can and cannot handle anymore. Good luck to you and hang in there. Those cravings get better and I found that water, extra protein, praying, writing in my journal, going for a walk, ect helped get my mind off of food and that pull to eat what I knew I really didn't need. You can do this and I wish you all the best!!

Meant to say that the ground sirloin is cooked and broken up til it's fine then drained!!
-
BEWARE!! Stay away!!! Lol!!! I cannot eat a cheeseburger at all! And I'm 2 years post op! I've tried to take a few bites several times and I get so suck every time. I guess that means I'm not supposed to eat that anymore! Which is a actually ok. I can eat low fat ground sirloin and I season it, mix cheese in it, and dice up onions and tomatoes, and add a little lite real mayo and a dab of mustard and it's pretty much a "cheeseburger" without the bun!! Maybe when you're ready for solids you could try this and get your burger fix! Also I eat a few French fries. I bake them, never fry, and they turn out perfect!! Good luck and hang in there!!

Protein Shakes after WLS?...
pianogal7733 replied to Lovelycurves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Unjury. I LOVE the chocolate splendor!!! I use the unflavored a lot to in warm dishes like oatmeal, mashed potatoes, ect. Unjury is by far my favorite with the most appealing taste in my opinion. However, when I'm running low and need protein shakes quickly, I use the EAS carb control and those cane be purchased at any grocery store or Walmart. Rich dark chocolate tastes like chocolate milk!! I hope this helps!! Good luck finding what works for you! -
Unjury unflavored protein?
pianogal7733 replied to cfergie911's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unjury chocolate splendor is my absolute favorite!!! However, I use the unflavored in a lot of things. I put it in oatmeal, mashed potatoes, sugar free muffins, add a little to my protein shakes to give me a little extra protein, ect. I don't like it mixed with applesauce or yogurt or things like that, but to me it works great in warmer dishes. Hope this helps! -
Hi!! I'm almost 2 years out and I eat a little corn. I put it in taco soup and things like that. I definitely don't overdo it, but I'm able to eat it without any problems. I hope this helps!

I use the EAS carb control in rich dark chocolate. I buy the ready made shakes, chill them and enjoy! It tastes just like chocolate milk!!! They're my favorite besides Unjury chocolate splendor! Good luck!!

I was wondering if anyone developed gluten intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome after gastric bypass. I'm 1 1/2 yrs post op and notice when I eat certain things my tummy feels gassy, bloated, and just blah. These are not new foods either. I also feel super tired and sleepy and have put on about 4-5lbs. If anyone has experienced this, please let me know your suggestions. Thank you!

Looks amazing!!! Can't wait to try!!

I was wondering if anyone has done this video and if so did you have good results. Thanks for your time!

I have this same problem and have gained roughly 10 lbs as a result. I'm so frustrated and discouraged, but I get hungry!!! So I've upped my protein, threw out the temptations, increased the water, and hit the gym again! Hoping this helps!! Sugar free peppermints help me too. I hope all goes well for you!! We can do this!!!
