You don't have a pre-op appointment? I had one four days before my syrgery and I got weighed in then.

Go have the surgery coz u deserve a better life. Don't listen to ur husband: put yourself and your benefit first. YOU DESERVE THIS. If he doesn't change his mind later, then you'll have decisions to make later. For now, focus on yourself and the better life you will enjoy.

So u r still on pureed? Looool coz that's what I do but when shopping for soups. My daughter keeps picking chicken noodle soup and I return it to the shelf :-)

I live near Pittsburgh, and had my surgery at UPMC St. Margarett. Was a good experience

Avoid chunky food. I go for pudding style mostly but sometimes thicker.

I puree everything: tuna with light mayo; baked fillet fish with fat free tartar sauce; chicken with broth and steamed veggie.

I have a question about calorie intake after the surgery. Do your.surgeons tell you how.many calories/day you should be consuming? Am almost 4 weeks after RNY. I take about 600 calories/day. Am not sure if this's much, enough, or little?

Geneva, Try blending your chicken with broth. It purees chicken and makes it easy to eat. Good protein too.

And why don't you go out? Today am almost 4 week out, and I went to a BBQ at my chair's. I had my pureed lunch b4 going, and sipped water all mt time there. I felt good, and many friends talked to me about my weight loss. It was quite good time. next week am going to a brown bag lunch with friends in a park. you can always find something fun to do with your friends. Think positively

I use Advantage protein shakes by Atkins. High in protein, low carb, and tastes nice. Comes in different flavors. My favorites are the vanilla, cramel, and strawberry ones.
