Congratulations! That is very exciting!

I am so glad to hear you are doing well! Keeping you in my thoughts!

Im glad you are doing well! I was on copaxone, but had new disease activity, but im great. I have no problems walking or anything despite my many lesions. My memory is another story. It is the worst.
Tysabri is still pretty scary, but in the first year the risk is pretty low. I doubt i will be allowed to continue, and im fine with that.
I had issues with solumedrol too. I not only gained a ton of weight, it gave me compression fractures in my back. Its fine now, but i want to stay far far away. Lol.
I also dont have a sx date, but i am hoping the process moves pretty quickly. I meet with my surgeon next week so im excited for that.
When will you find out about yours?

Thank you all for your feedback! I will report back after my appt next week!

Yes i am rr. I was on copaxone, but just switched to tysabri, so my immune system is crazy low. How are you feeling? Not that i am happy you have ms, but it is nice to see i am not alone.

Thank you MsCook! That is very important. Mine is def a calendar year, but that is a good point. Thankfully, my deduct and oop are low, so even if i dont get in this year it is ok. I have ms so my mri's and ms treatment alone get that met pretty fast. It will probably be met again by feb. lol.

Yes, and i want to not be afraid of the camera.

I would love to be able to run in an event like for breast cancer or multiple sclerosis. I can't wait to take a dance class. I would love to do zumba. I want to be able to bike all over on the trails. I also want to go on a shopping marathon and buy all of the cute skinny girl clothes!
-
I have multiple sclerosis, and was wondering if anyone else does too? Did you have to come off of your meds before surgery? Was the surgeon hesitant to operate because of your illness?
-
Congratulations! Glad to hear you are doing well!

Yay, at least i am not alone. I have never heard anyone else say they love it,

I am terrified too. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I am scared out of my mind. I have never had a single stitch, broken a bone, or any kind of surgery. The closet thing i have ever had, was a spinal tap, and that was not nearly as bad as i expected. i have to say, i would never want another spinal tap again, but i was fine.

It seems it might be possible then to get my surgery in before the end of the year, as my insurance does not have any prior dieting requirements
-
Good luck! I just joined myself, and I don't have a surgery date. Everyone seems so nice here!
-
Thank you so much! That was very informative!

Thank you so much for your response! That sounds good to me! I was hoping to get in this year, because my oop is met, but that could be tricky.
Congratulations on your loss! You have done an amazing job!

I have only told my husband, mom, and two friends

How long did it take to have your surgery from your initial surgeon consult?
-
I had to see a surgeon for an abcess under my arm, and he asked me if i had considered wLS. I knew i had to do something about my weight, but i hadnt considered something so drastic. He explained it all to me and was great. I attended a seminar, and just knew this was the right decision for me.
