I am 34 years old. I have three children and have been with my husband 7 years, this month. We just got married last September though. I had my daughter when I was 16 years old and have been overweight since. It wasn't until I had my third child that I really put on the weight. My youngest is only two, so the drastic weight gain has been over the past three years or so. I've been contemplating WLS for years, but took the initiative this past summer to go to a class at Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN. I spoke to my Doctor about it and he was all for it but kind of at a loss of how to go about getting it done. So I looked online and found Unity Bariatric Center and they had WLS classes. I went to one on July 27,2012 and have been on my path for WLS ever since. I weighed 321 at my highest but the clinic has me at 315 for my highest there. I am currently at 307 lbs as of last week. I have been struggling to lose my weight that's required for surgery. I am completely approved for surgery, everything is completed but I just need to lose weight. I was given a goal of 298 lbs. but was told last week that if I could get down five more lbs my surgery can be scheduled. I am super excited and working hard at it. I can't wait to have surgery and start my new life. Tomorrow I start counseling, which I thought was a good idea because of my relationship with food. I will update as I go on!
