Well, I got a fill. He got very aggressive this time and put 1cc in it. He drew out 2.5, so I guess I'm officially at 3.5 cc. Can't get much more restricted than that. Anyway, now I know what many of you have been talking about. I can hardly even drink Water fast. I got a little sick this morning eating Cereal, but never actually threw up. I'm going to leave it for now. Hopefully it will loosen up just a little bit.

My doc said 6 wks too, but he ended up giving me a fill at 2 wks. I think it just depends. My doc is pretty understanding. He knows it's a tool, but says if we didn't need help we wouldn't have been banded. By the way - I need more HELP!! Hang in there. It will get better. It sounds like you're doing great too.

Actually, I'm not exercising as much as I should be, but a little. The only other rule I have broken is that I had some carbonated drinks. I'm wondering if that didn't cause a problem. I know it was a big "no no" but you know how hard headed we can be sometimes!

I had no problem at all with my first fill, and in fact think I'm going in for the fourth fill. I know everyone is different, but again no big deal. Goodluck!!

I'm struggling some with the "head hunger" thing too. It's a really difficult thing for me. I was banded on 7/30/07 and had my first fill on 8/15/07. I went back to the dr last week frustrated but he said I had actually lost 30 lbs since I signed up for lapband. I didn't think I had done that well, but lately I'm not doing well. Any suggestions on the head hunger thing would be appreciated.

I am obsessed with the scale. I weigh at least twice a day - bad habit probably, but it makes me feel better.

Well, the wait is over and I finally got my band yesterday. I'm still in a lot of pain though. I guess that's normal?? I have a very sore throat and my stomach hurts along with a little pain in the shoulder - but not a lot. My doctor said I can go on to soft foods at tolerated. I don't feel hungry yet though. When do most people start wanting real food and what do you eat? Also, when do most start exercising? Any advice is appreciated! I posted this somewhere else too. I had surgery on 7/30/07 and have my first post op tomorrow. I don't even feel like I have a band right now. Any chance he might fill it tomorrow. The instructions I have say they fill it at four weeks, but I really need it now. WHEN DID EVERYONE GET THEIR FIRST FILL?

I am two weeks out from surgery and mine is very big and bulging. It's right at the bottom of my ribs. It doesn't bother me, but I clearly know it's there.

I have the same problem. I loveeeee water and tend to gulp it a lot even if I'm not very thirsty. What I've found is it's okay and when it's not you'll get the signal (pain in the mid chest). This has worked so far for me, but I haven't had my first fill. Not sure what will happen then.

My doctor said Slim Fast and one decent meal a day. Secret though - I didn't stay on the diet hardly at all. I didn't tell him though and when he came out of surgery he told my husband that the diet really paid off! Not very ethical I know, but I just couldn't stay on the diet. I did give it a try though.

I got my band on 7/31/07. I go the doctor for my post op tomorrow. I really need a fill bad - I too could eat a pizza or two. Do you think he might fill it tomorrow or will I have to wait four weeks from surgery date?

Probably a silly question - but I just got banded Monday. I'm still sore and feeling a little weird, but I can't tell if you know something isn't going down. Is it pressure - I'm having a lot of that?

How is everyone feeling now? I noticed several people banded on the same day as me. I am doing really well. I've lost 9 lbs so far, but I'm starting to get hungry now. I'm not sure if it's as much physical as mental. I'm trying to drink a lot of water and hope it goes away. I can't wait for first fill, but I'm told that won't take place until the end of August for me.

Thanks Tyanna. It looks like you're doing great! I have felt the pressure mid-chest. I was a little concerned because I didn't think it would be that high. It happens mostly when I'm drinking. I think I have to work on drinking slower.

I'm with you on the pregnancy thing. First thing I noticed every time was orange pee. Dr. also told me to be careful because pregnancy after weight loss is very common. I laughed, as all of my children are IVF.

Well, tomorrow's the day for me. I'm very excited, but a little scared too. I found myself cleaning like a crazy person today. I went through clothes and started throwing out anything I haven't worn in 6 mos. I've never been able to stick to that rule before - but all things must change now. I've really done bad on the pre-op diet - but I figure that's all behind me to now too. Wish me luck!!

My best friend is being a real pain in the butt! My surgery is Monday 7/30/07, and she has asked really smart--- questions. She has asked things like "Will your stomach blow up if you have a Coke?" She did this for a few days and then my favorite came when my husband was on line making changes to his 401k and asked me something. She was sitting right there in front of us both and said, "It doesn't matter, you're not going to live long enough to worry about it!" I was absolutely taken aback. My husband is 48 yrs old and nothing wrong with him. It really upset me. Up until that point my husband thought her smart remarks were "in my head". Quite frankly, I've decided that people who don't offer me support through this - simply won't be on my list. It's kind of like a 12 step program, you don't need the negativity.
