  1. Ok so I'm now 13 weeks post op & was doing well. Except the past 2 weeks I've done nothing but throw up every time I've eaten & I keep feeling sick on & off as well. The smell of certain foods makes me want to vomit too. I know it's not a bug but really am getting concerned & want to know what the hells going on? :'(
  2. I'm feeling so much better now and I've finally got some of my energy back; although its not back one hundred percent yet & I'll find out in February whether I have an under active thyroid, which makes you tired very quickly if you do too much or over doing things ad I have a tendency to do. My diets particularly the amount of food I'm consuming is still very much up & down & that in itself I'm trying my hardest to fight with as I need to eat lil & often rather than skipping meals completely ad its not good. My enjoyment for my love of cooking has returned providing I'm not feeling knackered lol. My dietician cracked me up & quoted what I've detailed below: - Most Bariatric Patients lose between 65% - 75% of their body weight in the first 12 - 18 months. I've lost 65% of my body weight in the past 3 months. Now Lucii as your dietician listen carefully because you've been ill on and off for 12 weeks since your operation; over Christmas I want you to sleep & get plenty of rest, eat things high in fat such as chocolate but not enough sugary things in one go to cause you dumping syndrome. Eat pizza; nuts and fatty foods & as much Protein as you can & have a few glasses of wine. You now must start maintaining your weight for at least a couple of months now, before we want you to lose anymore. Well I never ever thought I'd hear that from a medical professional in my life time LOL! I understand why tho as I was 15 stone 4lbs & I'm now 11 stone 4lbs which I've lost in 14 weeks & its a lot far too quickly. Baring in mind I'm only 5ft 2inches & medically the correct weight for my height & bmi is between 8 stone to 8 & a half stone. So in total I've only got another 3 stone to lose before I'm at my target weight. But everyone keeps telling me that they'll be nothing left of me if I lose another 3 stone. Gonna try to add some of my before & after pictures up now. I'll keep in touch & let you know whether I've got sn under active thyroid as well as trying to maintain my weight for a couple of months. Wishing you all love & support & god bless you all. Kindest Regards Lucii Mills Xxxxx
  3. I had my gastric bypass surgery on 17 September; I am now six weeks post op & to be completely honest I'm doing rubbish. I've got no energy at all & I've recently added an additional Iron supplement in with my Calcium & Vitamins A - Z, but it hasn't made any difference at all. Due to my lack of energy its putting a real strain on my relationship & I'm even struggling with work, as I've had so much time off this year with this & gallbladder removal & infections. I feel that my Partner is being really selfish & doesn't understand what I'm going through & especially what my body is going through, but has been through as well. I'm doing okay with my fluids & they are being increased however; I am doing awful with my Protein & my dietician doesn't want me on Protein shakes, she wants me on food. I'm so flat on the floor with depression & all of this has started since I've had this surgery, but I genuinely feel like giving up on life itself & my anti depressants are no longer working. I'm seeing my GP tomorrow so I'm praying he can help me get out of this black hole. Since my op there was 3 weeks my weight didn't move; now I'm weighing 11 stone 11lbs, but due to servere depression there are days I won't eat at all & only drink. Please can someone help me or advise me; does this pass & will my energy levels come back eventually, will I always feel this tired & worthless? Sorry for the essay. Kindest Regards Lucii Xxxxx UK Hampshire
  4. Thank you Jacqueline K I really really appreciate your feedback & support. What Protein shakes did you take & bars & did they taste nice as thats what I'm dreading tbh? I will try keep going & really do appreciate your comments & knowing that I'm not alone. Best wishes Lucii Xxxxx
  5. I haven't lost any more than a stone which I lost my first five days after surgery so I'm now at 12 stone. I think with any weight that does come off will take me longer now & will slow down, where as I've been expecting miracles. I've been getting stomach pains & sometimes I think that I may have over eaten as I've felt very sick or been sick on two occasions. I'm eating soup; cheese strings to get Protein & yoghurt & low fat low sugar milkshakes. Mash potato sometimes or a jacket potato without skins; sometimes shepherd's pie, or cold carbonara or ravioli. Crisps as a carbohydrate if I don't eat potato for a while, low fat cheese & crackers. But no matter what I eat or how much sleep I get I'm permanently shattered & have no energy. Haven't been exercising as I'm still too sore but really want to get back to it. Trying to quit smoking as well. Generally feeling MEH & back at work full time too. :'(

    My 4th Week Post Op

No I don't have protein shakes & was told that I should be eating food not using shakes. Xx
  9. Hi Everyone Its my 3rd week after my operation & I have to say it's been really tough for me. I've been feeling very tired a lot & my mood & moral has been extremely low. As for food I've not really been that bothered sometimes & I've had to force myself to eat as I've had no appetite. I managed to eat a very child size sandwich this evening with no crusts as I made sure it had Protein in it. I know I'm not supposed to eat like that yet; but I'm really struggling to get protein & other things I need in to my diet. Partly because I have no energy & I'm not interested in cooking atm; even tho I used to love to cook, I'm generally so down in myself & due to personal / relationship & family issues, I'm struggling to motivate myself to do anything. Does this pass as even tho I love healthy food; I've lost all interest in food & life :'(
  10. Hi Everyone I had my gastric bypass surgery 48 hours ago & I'm hoping to be let home this afternoon. Still quite sore but first 29 hours after surgery was F**** Agony although its eases a hell of a lot now, just hurts swallowing tablets & liquids still trying to get used to doing that. It's completely eye opening & life changing as your teaching yourself how to eat again & what not to eat as well. Your also learning how to listen to yourself & learn your boundaries too. I'll keep you posted with my progress when I can. Off to have a snooze now as still feeling very tired. God bless Xx
  11. Thanks everyone for the advice particularly about the gas & the walking. So far don't appear to be getting much gas but my foods are mainly consisting of Soup & milk shake. Broken sleep seems to be an issue still although I've always suffered with broken sleep. But I am feeling tired in waves & bouts but I think I need to push myself a lil more to stay out of bed & keep mobile. Hope your all doing well following your surgery's & any advice or opinions are more than welcome. Kindest Regards Lucii
  12. Starting my milk diet not this Saturday but next Saturday to shrink my liver; so currently working through my bucket list of foods I'm probably never gonna eat again. My surgery is booked to go ahead Tuesday 17 September to have a gastric bypass & I really cannot wait. I've had a massive clear out of my clothes & bagged up a load of clothes that I will in 12 - 18 months time pay to have turned in, so will be spending most of my time in Primark until I reach my weight goal. Eager to know all the dietary percentages of sugar & fat etc after my op as I've already been told I'm gonna be on slop for 6 months. Kindest regards Lucii Xx
  13. Hi my name is Lucii & I will be 31 years old this November. I've battled with my weight on & off most of my life; but this started to become more of an issue for me following a head on collision back in January 2009, which as a result has left me with a spinal injury thats permanent. My Doctors & consultants told me that I will need a spinal fusion within the next 10 years; if I don't have this surgery then they've said that I could lose the loss of my legs, bladder & bowels permanently & become registered disabled. The catch is though that they've also told me that if I don't undergo a spinal fusion, then the above issues would happen to me anyway. So the way I see it is I'm stuck in a catch 22 situation & screwed either way. The heaviest I've ever been is 15.5 lbs & a size 18, bearing in mind that I'm also only 5ft 2inches. I currently weigh in at 13 stone & a size 16. I'm due to have my surgery on Tuesday 17 September 2013 & I have to say I'm soooo excited I can't bloody wait. I'm not nervous at all, although I don't know how I will feel being on sloppy food for at least 6 months lol, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I just wanted to say to anyone who is considering having this surgery; as I underwent researching this for six months & started with all the bad horror stories before I checked all the good ones & positive stories. I decided to do my research back to front as I really wanted to know exactly what I was letting myself in starting with the shit all the way to the smooth. I have learnt that this specific surgery is not to be taken lightly & should be seriously invesigated properly, as its not the quick fix most people think. I will try & keep my logs up dated leading to my surgery & as much as I can after my surgery. If you would like to ask me anything please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for listening & reading my log. Kindest Regards Lucii
  14. Happy New Year everybody as its been a while since I was last on here. I'm quite confuzzled & concerned as I have booked my consultation on 6 March 2013; only to be told that I am meeting a Dietician, then the second consultation included in the price is to meet the surgeon & nobody told me that I have to meet the Dietician first? I'm worried that the Dietician will try to put me off for having / wanting the Gastric Bypass Surgery even though I have to pay £11, 000, 00 for it. I thehen I'll have further regular consultations once I've booked my Gastric Bypass. Can anyone help me & comment about their own experiences starting from their first consultation process all the way through up to the Gastric Bypass Surgery, as would very much appreciate it? 16. Hi my names Lucii & I'm turning 30 this November. I have been battling with my weight for most of my life; & I have dried every diet, slimming drug you can think of without much success. I have a spinal problem since a head on collision back in January 2008, so excerise for me is very limited. I have only been thinking about having they Gastric Bypass the last couples months & I'm still researching it. I have decided it is the best procedure for me, but have to wait to receive my compensation from my accident to pay for my bypass, which will cost me £10, 000.00 I look forward to meeting new & existing users on here & hearing your stories with any bad bits too.
