    Eating 4 days post op

Here is some really good advice, and again I am going through this whole liquid stage myself, and I know it is very hard but you have made such a huge commitment by having this surgery, you owe it to yourself to stick to the plan. I don't know about other doctors, but my diet was Clear Liquids for the first week, then I advanced to Jello pudding and creamy Soups for week 2, then starting week 3 I go on the "mush" diet until i get my first fill. I was told that during the mush diet I cannot eat anything that a infant < 12 months old could not eat. Is this pretty much the same diet as everyone else? Please let me know

Kristin07, For me I signed up for extra hours at work, it helped a little in making the time go by but it still seemed like an eternity. Prior to surgery I started walking, I really think it helped me, I was in and out of the hospital within 5 hours. I spent an hour in PACU, most of which I don't remember and as soon as I got back to the recovery room, I got up was able to urinate and was on my way home. I think walking help me with the quick recovery. I am now 7 days post op and I feel great. I have not really had any pain, just discomfort. So try walking, I believe it helps in the recovery period.

Hello Everyone, My name is Christy and I was banded on Monday 07/02/07, everything is going great, other than a little bit of gas, I can't tell that I have had surgery. I sure wish I had found this site earlier, I have had a lot of my questions answered and it seems the support is great here. I look forward to chatting with you all!

I felt blue before my surgery as well, all the emotions you feel leading up to the surgery kind of wear you out. Don't worry you will feel better once it is all over, I am 7 days post-op

Hello All, I was banded 07/02/07, and feeling great, only problem is that I am hungry, but I have moved up to full liquids such as jello and creamy soups so this helps. I thought I would feel some restriction but that is definetly not the case, but my doctor warned me that I may feel this way. I can't even tell that I have had surgery. The only gas pain that I have experienced happened yesterday 6 days post op but it was painful. Good luck to all on your upcoming surgeries.

Hello Wagnerd, I understand how you feel, I had my surgery 07/02/07, and by Friday 07/06/07 I felt the same way, my doctor told me I could go ahead and progress to thicker liquids so now I am eating Jello pudding and creamy Soups made extra liquidy. I also feel as if I could eat a hamburger but you really must stick to the diet in order for your body to heal. But feel assured that there is someone else out here going through the same temptation, I just can't wait for my first fill!!! Good luck to you!
