Just a random question, did anyone slip up and try some Halloween candy?? Or was even able to eat any?

I had surgery on the 15th. I haven't had any problems at all. Tonight, I was bent over on my left side to fix the dryer vent and when I got back up I had sharp pain in the left side. Wondering if this is normal??

I'm glad that you are doing well. If you always have something with you to drink you should be ok on water. Unjury makes an unflavored protein powder that is super easy to mix in anything you are eating. Now you have to work on your brain, instead of going to food, you are going to have to find a different outlet. That can be anything, sewing, scrap booking, walking, anything! The surgery was a tool for us, now it is up to us to reroute our way of thinking. Now instead of eating when I feel sad, I grab the dogs and family and we go for a walk. So stones I just play a silly game on my iPad to pass the time if I'm thinking about a piece of chocolate cake. Hope this helps! It will get better, I promise!!

Thanks guys! I woke up this morning with just a little pain but it does seem to be going away. Note to self, no bending and staying that way for to long on the left side!!

Had my one week pos op visit. All went well. I have no problem getting in all my liquids and Protein. I'm cleared for soft foods now. Had staples taken out. Down 15 lbs since surgery, 23lbs so far. Pretty excited!! I did after I got home bend wrong and split the incision in my belly button a little. It has stabbed over but has this happened to anyone else?

You will do great!! It will be a week tomorrow for me and it is nothing like I thought! I am so happy I did it! Prayers!!

Is anyone having referred pain in your left shoulder? I had surgery the 15th and have been doing great until tonight. My shoulder is killing me!

So for those of us that are post op, when did you start the puréed stage? What was the first thing you ate?

Oh you are!! You will be able to have that again, just not now. My sister brought my husband and sons Casey's pizza tonight for supper and it was ruff but I made it. They felt so bad they were going to eat in in the garage but I said I can overcome!! I did!

My surgeon told me that I have more pain on the left because that is where the stapler went in. I don't know if tht is true for everyone but that's what he told me. I just got home today. Been walking a lot. Sipping ok but I forget so ill have to get better at that!! I'm glad everyone seems to be doing ok!
